Those that have a GP or local doctor helping with your TRT

Online clinics are a great way to go if you cannot find a doctor to help you, although they are expensive (but some are very, very knowledgeable and nice) and may be the route I go if I cannot get my GP to help soon.

For those of you who have a local doctor help what did you ask him to get him to help? I've explained to my doctor that I will do online clinic if he won't help as I don't have time to mess around for weeks with a doctor locally considering my insurance is very gray area on what is covered. If the doctor were to fill out any number of things my whole visit wouldn't be covered and that would cost more then a years worth of a online clinic.

Just trying to find the best medium between price and quality. Quality is important to me but right now cash is something I'm short of but I can borrow if needed, just not the route I want to go.

I'm not looking to do self TRT for many reasons, no reason to go into detail why. Although there are great resources out there for this for those that are looking to do this.

Once I get my situation figured out I hope to help guys within this sub forum with questions that I can of course answer. Its been a bit of a pain dealing with figuring this all out and I'd like to at the very least help those in need out and shed some light.

why not go to a sports medicine or anti aging dr?
your insurance might at least cover labs then

I would not borrow money to get HRT. I told my doc I wanted testosterone, period. I explained the reasons why, he tested my blood, and just like that we built a working relationship. Don't you have pain clinics or something in your area? Most of them are walk in legal drug dealers.
Also, It think it helps to be a little older and use some finesse when you are pleading your case. Good luck dude.

I just went to an Endocrinologist this week. I explained I was fatigued and just not feeling myself (I am 47 years old by the way). She ordered a number of blood tests (Thyroid, liver, kdiney, testosterone, etc). Everything came back normal except the testosterone came back low. Don't know the details yet, but I am going back to see her next week to go over the TRT options. She was very nice (she actually treats my wife for Thyroid issues).

Lucky guys. I'm having a talk with my doctor again. How I'm going to come up with the $2000+ a year for HRT is something I haven't figured out yet besides borrow the money.

Not sure where you came up with that number. For me, the Endo is covered at $35/copay, the blood work is covered as well. My prescription plan covers the Test as well as long as it is prescribed by my doctor.
Not sure what insurance you have, but for me most of the cost is covered.

pcp doc twice a year. $20 copay 1 10ml test c $30 covered by ins. $80@publix no ins. 200mg per week life is good. self prescribed is about same price

People are lucky with good insurance glad for you fellas. Its a shame more doctors aren't knowledgeable in this area. Next step is to sell off items to fund the expenses of a online clinic. The cost to feel normal again... Sad it comes to this for many people.

However this was more geared at what you asked or said to have had success with a GP or local doctors on getting proper treatment.

Told doc I had symptoms of low t and she tested for it. Low sex drive no energy etc.

I was screwed around for two years with my GP..started with test gel after my test came back at 249..went to test cyp once a month..once every three weeks..once every two weeks..and all the time he wouldnt allow my wife to give me the shots..shes a nurse..so I had to go into the office and pay a copay every time.Found another GP that used to be at a hormone replacement office and was very up to date on treatments..he offered test cyp every week and HCG and arimidex..didnt take the HCG but after the weekly injections on cyp everything was much better..tried the pellets..didnt like that..so I'm back on weekly injections..get bloods every three months...the most important thing I could recommend is find a dr that will listen..the other thing
to do is find a compounding pharmacy in your area..contact them and they will recommend a dr that prescribes test...dosent mean you have to use them for t he test..as the one I found doesnt take insurance so its up to you to submit...but after I found the DR..he write the script and I send it to my pharmacy for a 3 months supply..I did find a couple places in my search that would do over the phone consults...but I would have to get physical and bloods done and submit them to them and they would suggest a treatment..at your expense..no insurance..unless you submit..found a dr in Michigan..you fly into Detroit..they pick you up at airport..do consult at office and they return you to airport after consult...they give you suggestions...but charge you for all of it..I can say for me..I get 200mg test cyp weekly..arimidex twice a week and my test is usually up between 8-900
