Anyone have a clue what it costs (roughly) to take some pilot lessons? And how long to get a license?

Did you want to learn how to land too?

Thats extra.

Over here its advertised (Cesna type planes) for around $99 or so.

5k to 7k seems to be average in the south east.

The more equipment you want to get qualified/certified raises cost.

Sometimes you can pay as you go. 6 month program~ $1000/month, etc...

I have seen $120 to $170 and hour depending on the plane you learn in and I think for a private fixed wing license you need around 25 flight hours and you will have to pay a few hundred dollars for some classroom instruction to. A lot of places will let you pay for each session individually

Depends what you want to do, if you want to just fly for fun, $5k-7k is about right, but I don't think that would include an instrument rating, which is necessary under IFR conditions (Essentially poor weather). If you want to flight instruct or fly commercially it will cost more as you will need your CFI or Commerical pilot's license.

Thanks guys, that's why I came here
