I have been following a spartan workout and have come to a stumbling block, litterally! The problem is I have a knee injury which my doctor says I can train around if I support it and not do any explosive movements involving my injred knee. This routine involves box jumps and these are a no no for me at the moment. Anyone have any ideas as to what I could substitute this exersise with?
I would read the stickies because the "spartan workout" just sounds like a scam to me. There's a lot of good information in the stickies (read "Designing training routines" first).
As to your specific question, there's no real substitute for an explosive movement that isn't another explosive movement. You could do front squats in place of box jumps, but I would check with your doctor to make sure doing this is OK.
