Methyl 1-Testosterone

M1T or Methyl 1-Testosterone is a 17-a methyl version of the 1-Testosterone steroid. Methyl 1-Testosterone is a derivative of dihydrotestosterone. Thus, until 2005, this powerful steroid was available over the counter as a "pro-hormone", until law enforcement caught on.

M1T is yet another 17aa oral compound that will be very harsh on your liver while being broken down, that will pack on fast, low quality gains. In most cases, these "designer steroids" have the same effect as our normal oral steroids such as dianabol or anadrol, but to a lesser degree in gains and in some cases, worse side effects. But on the other side of things, many people swear by these products. M1T is one of the few out of the bunch that I see differently. M1T has been linked to some extraordinary gains, and maybe it was just one steroid that was overlooked, forgot about, or we just didn't give it enough of a look.
The first thing we notice when we look at M1T is that it is in fact a 17aa compound, which means it is designed to survive the passes in the liver, meaning it is going to be quite hepatoxic. That's where the "Methyl" in M1T comes from. The next thing we look at is the steroid 1-Testosterone. 1-Test is a testosterone derivative that has a 1,2-double bond instead of 4,5-double bond in its a-ring.
While being closely related to testosterone, 1-test does not really act like the normal testosterone that we know. I would say it's fairly comparable to NPP or EQ. But if we are talking technical, 1-test is actually a dihydroboldenone. Another popular DHB steroid with the 1-methyl addition is primobolan, so you could also compare 1-test to that. But with the addition of the 17a-alkylation, as with many other steroids, we get a compound that acts much faster and rapid in the body, while producing much more dramatic (but not necessarily quality) results. When the 17aa is added to 1-testosterone, we get a 5alpha reduced but much more potent and active version of dianabol.
Effects in Men
M1T has been called a 'better dianabol', while others say its just part of the designer steroid hype. The truth is, it works. When we breakdown the chemical makeup as we did, we clearly see why it has dianabol-like effects in men and why it induces such extreme and fast gains. But also, much like dianabol, these gains will be very watery and will mostly diminish once use of the drug is discontinues. A good 10-20 pounds can be put on in a few weeks while taking M1T on a correct diet, but do not expect to keep most of that weight once use is discontinued.
Side Effects
Even though M1T does not aromatize into estrogen, that does not mean it can't enduce gyno. In fact, gyno is pretty common with M1T, as it may be induced by progesterone or prolactin. Also because M1T is very androgenic, it may also induce male pattern baldness, acne, and aggression. Another side effect that is quite common is severe bloating (pretty much comparable with dianabol) and the reason behind this is still not completely clear. Also, being a 17aa compound, this oral if very liver toxic and I would not recommend running it for any more then 6 weeks. Being an anabolic steroid, taking M1T will work to shut down your natural testosterone production, so it is highly recommended to take this drug alongside testosterone.

Methyl-1-testosterone was first described in 1962.This compound was developed during some of the most active years of steroid research, a time when literally hundreds of different effective anabolic agents were being actively studied and pursued by drug companies. Although methyl-1-testosterone did see some favorable assays, displaying a high level of potency and an acceptable ratio of anabolic to androgenic effect, like most agents synthesized during this time period it never actually developed into a medicine. As is common in many areas of pharmaceutical research, a select number of agents were given the dollars for full studies and eventual release, and the rest were" ignored. Methyl-1-testosteroe, for whatever reason, was simply not one of the select few drugs to reach pharmacy shelves, and it lay dormant in the medical books for approximately forty years.
Methyl-1-testosterone reemerged sharply in 2003, when it was introduced as an OTC (Over-The-Counter) "nutritional supplement"in the United States, due to the fact that it was unknown when the 1991 law controlling anabolic steroids was written, and therefore not included. The product was introduced to the market by Legal Gear, and was soon extremely popular due to its very high level of effectiveness. It was also soon the subject of many generic copies. Methyl-1-testosterone did not last long in the U.S., and laws were soon passed to include it as a controlled substance. The laws went into effect January 20, 2005, at which point the possession or distribution of this steroid started carrying the same Federal penalties as other anabolic steroids. This effectively ended the market for methyl-1-testosterone, and the agent is again unavailable to bodybuilders worldwide.
