I don't understand the thinking behind that article or the animosity that bodybuilders have for powerlifters and vice versa. They are two different sports with completely different goals. One is to be jacked, and the other is to lift heavy shit. The leaders of each sport a genetically gifted in a way that suits their sport. Power lifters will almost never be able to maintain the same amount of mass as bodybuilders at lower body fat percentages. Most body builders will never be able to lift the amount of weight power lifters can without blowing their guts out of their ass.

Might as well write an article why football players are more jacked that marathon runners.

I agree completely. Powerlifters don't give a shit about muscularity or vascularity. They are all about lifting the most weight for 1 rep in their respective weight class. That's it. The two sports are worlds apart. You can't possibly compare the two, because their goals are entirely different. I also love how they take three superheavyweight powerlifters and compare them to bodybuilders insofar as their muscularity. Wow, they are not as muscular. No shit Sherlock. That's because they are superheavyweight Powerlifters, genius. They can eat everything in sight and use the extra weight to lift more weight through leverage. Believe me, they don't care about muscularity any more than a bodybuilder cares about his three lift total. By the way, I've met Dr. Squat, and Fred is one of the nicest guys you'd want to meet. But I'll bet even he would mention the obvious fact that he does not train for muscle endurance, he trains only for maximum power for 1 rep. So talking about his muscular endurance compared to Tom Platz is completely beside the point. Stupid article.

I don't care either way. I think both sports are awesome. But the article is fucking retarded. Anybody with an IQ more than mayonnaise knows that bodybuilders are more muscular, and I would surely hope so considering that is nearly the entire motivation of a bodybuilder.

I didnt see it as a cheap shot at powerlifters at all. I was more interested in its views on trying to combine powerlifting and bodybuilding rep ranges into a bodybuilding program which is something alot of people do including myself! However, the article doesnt seem to believe this would be as successfull as just sticking to bodybuilding rep ranges and time under tension etc.
