    Intramuscular Injections (IM)

The following was borrowed from howtodoinjections.com, this is purely for educational purposes only

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) - ABDOMINALS.

    Instructions:
Inject directly into the middle of each abdominal muscle as indicated above.

Make sure that you are lean enough to see the individual muscles clearly so you do not miss the muscle and inject into the fat or in the adjoining tissue.

26gauge to 30gaugehalf inch (13mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) -
    BICEPS.

    Instructions:
The above two photos indicate the injection location for the inner bicep head while the two photos below indicate the injection location for the outer bicep head.

Inject directly into the middle of each bicep muscle head.

25gauge to 30gaugehalf inch (13mm) to 1 inch (25mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) -
    CALVES.

    Instructions:
The above photo indicates the injection location for both calf muscle heads.

Inject directly into the middle of each calf muscle head.

25gauge to 30gaugehalf inch (13mm) to 1 inch (25mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) -
    DELTOIDS.

The above 3 photos indicate the injection location for the anterior (front) deltoid head.

The above 3 photos indicate the injection location for the lateral (side) deltoid head.

The below 2 photos indicate the injection location for the posterior (rear) deltoid head.

    Instructions:
The above photos indicate the injection locations for all 3 deltoid muscle heads.

Inject directly into the middle of each deltoid muscle head.

25gauge to 30gaugehalf inch (13mm) to 1 inch (25mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) -
    GLUTES.

    Instructions:
The above 2 photos indicate the injection locations for the glutes.

Inject directly into the middle of the upper outer quadrant of the glute.
Injecting anywhere else in the glute risks hitting the sciatic nerve.

23gauge to 25gauge1.25 inch (32mm) to 1.5 inch (38mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) -
    LATS.

    Instructions:
The above 2 photos indicate the injection locations for the lats.

Inject directly into the middle of the outer edge of the lat.

25gauge to 30gaugehalf inch (13mm) to 1 inch (25mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) -
    PECTORALS.

    Instructions:
The above photo indicates the injection locations for the pectorals.

You can inject anywhere in the approximate locations of the above sites as indicated in the photo.

25gauge to 30gaugehalf inch (13mm) to 1 inch (25mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) - QUADRICEPS.

    Instructions:
The above photo indicates the injection location for the outer and inner (tear drop) quadricep muscle heads.

For the outer quad muscle head, inject at the halfway point between your hip bone and your knee.
For the inner (tear drop) quad muscle head, inject directly into the middle of the muscle head.

25gauge 1 inch (25mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) -
    TRAPEZIUS.

    Instructions:
The above 3 photos indicate the injection locations for the traps.

Inject straight down, directly into the 'peak' of the trap muscle head.

25gauge 1 inch (25mm) long needles are adequate.

    INTRAMUSCULAR INJECTIONS (IM) -
    TRICEPS.

The above 3 photos indicate the injection location for the outer (horseshoe) tricep head.

The above photo indicates the injection location for the lower rear tricep head.

The below 3 photos indicate the injection location for the middle rear tricep head.

    Instructions:
Inject directly into the middle of each tricep muscle head.

25gauge to 30gaugehalf inch (13mm) to 1 inch (25mm) long needles are adequate.

I was thinking the same thing. I wouldn't, but more power to you. Hell, there are a lot of spots up there I'll never do. Like the front and rear delt, Pec and traps.

I don't hit my quads either. Seems like anything below the Glutes cripples me. And Quads were the first spot I ever pinned.

It all depends how u shoot the quads, when my ass is sore nohomo, i go for quads, really goes by hitting it on the right angle, hit it funny a couple of times and couldnt even walk, the rest was easy, but Glutes always takes the win....

I really want to try SUBQ but ppl say ur more prone to abscesses, not sure how true that is, but it scares me enough not to try it..

Nice info! I dont think I would go as far as shooting abs..
For quads I always pin the outer quad, with a slin pin or slin size needle on normal syringe. Smooth as butter, takes a while to inject, but I don't get that knot or bad sore feeling after.

would never pin pecs or lats. sorry but stabbing needles towards my lungs just doesn't seem smart. needles into the chest wall = needle chest decompression. just can't think of it any other way.

I do calf all the time. Only the outside though. The inside kills me. I have done bi's some but found it not to easy to do. So many blood vessels in there it takes 2 sometimes 3 pins to get no blood when asperating. Going to try traps sometime soon.

I cannot be blamed for what I say. So don't listen to what I write because I am clearly

Quads, front and side delts and traps are where I pin now. Quads are the easiest, got a great tip from TGB1987 on how to avoid the nerve pockets and its been smooth sailing ever since.

    Sure, my bad.

When pinning quads, stay high and outside. The easiest way is the put your hand in your pocket when you have on pants or shorts, press on your quad with your finger tips and get an approximate idea of the location and remember it. Now, when ready to pin, remember the spot and before cleaning the area, push with one finger tip and find a spot that has less feel. You'll be able to instantly tell the difference, and that is your injection area. Clean the area real well and just prior to the pin, push one last time with the alcohol pad to reverify. Pin away. Have not had one issue since starting this.

Careful brother EZ. The calf is really sensitive. If you do, make sure you don't pin anything with PIP - or you will hate yourself lol

I'm going to gracefully bow out of this whole calf inject idea , even though I really wanted to focus my HMP research around that. Oh well...At least we all know we got some good honest Brothers on here that genuinely care.

I agree, wish I was ambidextrous though. My left should is easy, my right not so much. Maybe I need better slin pins.
