    How important is protein powder?

Do you think protein powder is really essential or would a few eggs after a workout be just as good? Reading the marketing spiel on the tin would make me think it's essential, but then you'd expect that.
The reason I ask is because I'm very poor and protein powder is very expensive.

Well as long as you're not trying for an insulin spike post w/o, i dont see any reason why you would need a whey supplement. Most people just use it for convenience.

Eggs, tuna, etc is all great. Just make sure you're still getting the correct amount of protein/day!

You don't need protein powder...it's just a matter of convenience.
