Why it is recommended to drink 1-2 gallons ed. What if you drink only like 2 liters during the day? What if you drink 1.5 gallons one day, then drink only 2l ed next 3 days?
Do you do some organ damage, or do you not utilize some process to full potential, or do you miss out on something, or what?

You should drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water per day, if you weigh 200 drink 100 oz.

Agree with CTR10... have seen various "rules of thumb" for water consumption, and 1/2 ounce water per pound is pretty much spot on (Mayo clinic recommends 3 liters or 100 ounces per day for the average man). Those of us who work out regularly, or take supplements that may be liver or kidney toxic, will require more water (in my opinion).
