The use of encryption to conduct business over the forum without liability issues
I am here to get your takes on using encryption as an aid to the problem of obtaining steroids and ancilliaries on the underground market, as well as meeting the challenges that go along with that (such as keeping track of the reputations of sellers and buyers, and keeping infrastructure such as websites or other communication hubs online in the face of government pressure.)
I have noticed that it is almost never used in the AAS community, and a great deal of difficulty is encountered as a result. For example, there is a large community of people here who could profit greatly from the ability to securely and with extremely durable privacy, talk to each other to share information on sources of AAS.
Similarly even sellers, perplexingly, seem to fail to use encryption at all, even though the government is after them so much that it becomes a lifestyle to deal with all the problems that entails, and frankly means the termination of their career - at least - eventually. They do use things like safemail.net, but that is basically a toy in the face of the government, especially if others are not also using it or similar platform.
Are you aware of things like the Silk Road, the OpenPGP system, gpg, tor etc? Why not start using them?
Actually, an obvious and immediate use is for everyone to simply start getting OpenPGP keys, so people on the forum can PM each other or hold encrypted discussions through the existing forum infrastructure, on which they would be able to discuss sources and other sensitive issues without exposing the site operators to any liabilities, or themselves or their sources to esposure to LE/.the government surveillance, subpoenas etc. The power of the large existing community here could immediately be greatly magnified, to the benefit of all. Why not give this a try? Not everyone has to get started at once, anyone who wants can just make their key and share it, things hopefully snowballing. Is should mention that with such a scheme some double checking of the key fingerprints that have been shared should be done by email eventually to verify that everyone has the correct key but I don't want to complicate things too much here....
In many cases, for example here: http://www.ironmagazineforums.com/te...storone-2.html the government's tyranny is a problem even for people who *have a prescription*, due to the gross overcharging the pharmacies etc. engage in, the drugs end up actually more expensive than they are on the black market. Clearly, learning to use these tools is likely to come in handy in other contexts in the future too, even if you have some objection to the morality of buying AAS for personal recreational (instead of medical) use or whatever.
