DURANT, Okla. ? Authorities say a 12-year-old girl shot and wounded a man who kicked in the back door of her home.
Oklahoma City television station KWTV reports the incident happened Wednesday in Bryan County. The girl told police that a stranger rang the doorbell, then went around to the back door and kicked it in.
Police say the girl called her mother, who told her to get the family's gun, hide in a closet and call 911. Authorities say the man came into the room where she was hiding and tried to open the closet door.
Bryan County Undersheriff Ken Golden says the girl opened fire when the man turned the doorknob.
Police say the suspect was taken to a hospital but has since been extradited to the Bryan County jail.

Gas station clerks shoot armed robber, The Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati, Ohio 12/10/12

Two clerks were operating a Sunoco gas station in Springfield Township, Ohio, when an armed robber entered the store and ordered one of the clerks to ?go behind the counter and get me the money.? As the criminal went behind the counter he fired at the clerks, prompting the pair to retrieve a .40-caliber pistol and a shotgun and fire at the robber. Shots fired by both clerks struck the criminal, killing him.
A daily customer of the Sunoco station was puzzled as to why anyone would attempt to rob the store, telling local media, ?I know everyone that works in there. They are all great guys. Everybody knows they have guns. That?s why I?m surprised someone tried to rob them. It does not make sense.? (The Cincinnati Enquirer, Cincinnati, Ohio 12/10/12)

[h=2]Store owner stops knife-wielding robber, WOOD-TV, Battle Creek, Mich. 12/04/12[/h]Pardeep Singh was working behind the counter of his family?s convenience store, Liberty Mart, in Battle Creek, Mich. when a man entered the store and demanded money. Singh handed over some money and tried to calm the robber by talking to him. Unsatisfied with the amount of cash, the criminal said he needed more money, revealed a knife and attempted to get behind the counter. As the robber moved towards Singh, Singh retrieved a gun and shot the criminal in the head, ending the robbery. The wounded robber was taken to a local hospital where he was listed in critical condition. No one else was harmed during the incident.

[h=2]Immigrant uses revolver to defend home, The Herald, Sharon, Pa. 11/08/12[/h]Italian immigrant Pete Delli Bovi was at home on his couch in Sharon, Pa. when an intruder attempted to break down his door with a brick at 3 in the afternoon. Delli Bovi, who told reporters he always keeps his .38-caliber revolver nearby, retrieved the gun and shot the criminal twice. The home invader fled the scene but was captured by police after seeking treatment at a local hospital. Sharon Police Chief Mike Menster made clear that no charges would be filed against Delli Bovi and remarked, ?This is an occupational hazard of being a burglar ? eventually, you?re going to go into the wrong house and you?re going to get hurt.?

[h=2]Woman defends home from violent intruder, The Birmingham News, Birmingham, Ala. October 30, 2012[/h]A 63-year-old woman suffering from congestive heart failure and arthritis was asleep at home in Bessemer, Ala. when an armed intruder came into her bedroom. The home invader demanded that the woman hand over money and jewelry, and when she didn?t comply, he drew a keyhole saw and cut her on her stomach and arm. Eventually, one of the woman?s seven dogs alerted a guest staying at the home to the commotion. The guest distracted the criminal long enough for the woman to retrieve a .44-caliber revolver and shoot the criminal, who fled the scene. Police captured the home invader a short time later after he sought treatment at a local hospital. Following the shooting, the woman told local media, ?I have a family to protect and that?s what I did. I protected me and mine.? The armed citizen also noted that she has been a gun owner for more than 30 years and that ?women are better with guns.?

Two people are hospitalized after a gunman chased terrified restaurant patrons into the lobby of the Santikos Mayan 14 movie theater during a showing of "The Hobbit" last night, 1200 WOAI news reprots.

Police detectives and sheriff's investigators say the incident started in the China Garden Restaurant on Southwest Military Drive about 9 PM Sunday, when an employee of the restaurant walked in looking for a woman.

When the woman, who officials say is also a restaurant employee, wasn't there, the man pulled a gun and attempted to open fire in the restaurant but his weapon jammed.

"It started at the restaurant and then went into the parking lot and then into the movie theater," Deputy Lou Antu told 1200 WOAI news.

Investigators say some of the terrified restaurant patrons poured into the movie theater, and the gunman followed.

He opened fire, shooting one man in the chest, before Antu says an off duty sheriff's deputy who was working security at the theater shot him once.

"The officer involved, she took the appropriate action to try to keep everyone safe in the movie theater," Antu said.

The gunman and the patron are hospitalized.

Antu says the gunman never made it into the theater itself, thanks largely to the heroic work of the off duty deputy.

"She did what she felt she had to do," Antu said. "I feel that she saved a lot of lives by taking the action she had to take."

Antu said the gunman, if he survives, will probably face a charge of attempted capital murder, for shooting at the San Antonio police car on Southwest Military Drive as he ran from the restaurant to the theater.

Officials didn't know what the relationship was between the gunman and the woman in the restaurant, or what his motivation was for the shooting.
Neither of the police officers involved, the officer driving the San Antonio Poilce car, or the off duty deputy in the theater, were hurt, Antu said.

Media Ignore Numerous School Massacres Stopped by Gun Owners Defending Children

In the midst of all the anti-gun hysteria following the senseless murder of 26 people ? 20 of them first graders ? at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., one story that is repeatedly overlooked is how often a firearm has been used to save lives and stop senseless murders.
We here at Natural News believe the mainstream media, which so often overlooks these kinds of stories because they don?t fit into the statist government worldview held by the majority of news editors, has done a disservice to the public by ignoring these acts of selflessness and heroism.
With that in mind, we bring just some of the most recent high-profile incidents ? including what could have been additional school massacres ? that were stopped by law-abiding citizens using their Second Amendment rights to protect themselves and others. Scores of individual uses that never get reported are not included here:

Pearl High School, Mississippi: This incident began the morning of Oct. 1, 1997, when 16-year-old student Luke Windham entered the school with a rifle. Wearing only an orange jumpsuit and a trench coat and making no effort to hide his weapon, he initially entered the school and shot and killed two students, injuring seven others. He was stopped by assistant principal Joel Myrick, who retrieved a .45 cal. handgun from the glove box of his truck.
?I?ve always kept a gun in the truck just in case something like this ever happened,? said Myrick at the time, who went on to become principal of Corinth High School, Corinth, Miss.

Appalachia Law School, Virginia: On Jan. 16, 2002, Peter Odighizuwa, 43, a former student from Nigeria, arrived on the campus of the school with a handgun around 1:00 p.m. and immediately killed three people, at least two of them at point-blank range. Two students ? Mikael Gross and Tracy Bridges ? both retrieved handguns from their vehicles and confronted Odighizuwa. As former police officers, both men were trained to subdue suspects but the fact is they were on the scene and armed, and helped prevent more killings.

Muskegon, Michigan: From the Aug. 23, 1995, issue of the Muskegon Chronicle: ?Plans to slay everyone in the Muskegon, Michigan, store and steal enough cash and jewelry to feed their ?gnawing hunger for crack cocaine? fell apart for a band of would-be killers after one of their victims fought back. Store owner Clare Cooper was returning behind the counter after showing three of the four conspirators some jewelry, when one of the group pulled out a gun and shot him four times in the back. Stumbling for the safety of his bullet-proof glass-encased counter, Cooper managed to grab his shotgun and fire as the suspects fled.?

Colorado Springs, Colo.: On Dec. 9, 2007, gunman Mathew Murray, 24, launched an armed attack against the parishioners of the New Life Church that ultimately left two innocent victims dead. But the toll could have been much higher, were it not for the heroic actions of former police officer Jeanne Assam from Minnesota. In an interview she said she very nearly decided not to go to church that morning but because she saw a headline on her computer indicating that two young people were murdered and a training center for Christian missionaries about 70 miles away in the Denver suburb of Arvada, she changed her mind. Murray shot a total of five people before an armed Assam shot and killed him. There were about 7,000 people at the church at the time of the attack.

?Criminologist Gary Kleck estimates that 2.5 million Americans use guns to defend themselves each year. Out of that number, 400,000 believe that but for their firearms, they would have been dead,? columnist Larry Elder wrote in July, following the shooting tragedy at the premier of the latest Batman movie in Aurora, Colo.

?We know from Census Bureau surveys that something beyond 100,000 uses of guns for self-defense occur every year,? adds Professor Emeritus James Q. Wilson, a public policy expert at theUniversity of California-Los Angeles. ?We know from smaller surveys of a commercial nature that the number may be as high as two-and-a-half or three million. We don?t know what the right number is, but whatever the right number is, it?s not a trivial number.?

Gun owning mother protects kids from intruder

Guns are only up for debate on corporate owned news shows when used by the 0.00001% of Americans that turn out to be deranged killers on cocktails of anti-depressants.
That?s why you won?t be seeing any reports on an incident that occurred in Atlanta Friday when a mother of two fended off an intruder with a handgun, successfully protecting her kids and her home.
Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman toldwsbtv news that the woman spotted a man attempting to get into her property with a crowbar. The sheriff said that she ushered her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace and prepared to defend herself with the weapon.
When the intruder gained access to the property, he was in for an unpleasant surprise.
?The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he?s staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver,? Chapman told reporters.
The woman opened fire and delivered five rounds to the intruder.
?She?s standing over him, and she realizes she?s fired all six rounds. And the guy?s telling her to quit shooting,? Chapman said.
The woman then ran with the children to a neighbour?s house and waited for police to arrive. The shooter fled but was found a short time later in his car by police. He was badly injured with gunshot wounds to his face and neck, but survived.
The woman?s husband, Donnie Herman said ?My wife is a hero. She protected her kids. She did what she was supposed to do as responsible, prepared gun owner.?

You can bet your bottom dollar that this story won?t be appearing on Tonight With Piers Morgan, or any other mainstream nightly news show for that matter.
It just wouldn?t jive with the bombardment of anti-Second Amendment legislation that the Obama administration is about to unleash on the American people.
Yes sir, this routine incident will be confined to the backwaters of the internet along with the mass shooting that was prevented in a San Antonio theater within days of the Sandy Hook tragedy.

SURVEILLANCE CAMERA CAPTURES THE DRAMATIC MOMENT A SECURITY GUARD USED AN AR-15 TO FEND OFF ARMED HOLDUP


Dramatic surveillance footage out of the Detroit area shows the heart-stopping moment when a gun-wielding couple stormed into a tax business and started shooting ? and a security guard pulled out an AR-15 and drove them away.
The security guard suffered a non-life-threatening wound to the leg and the suspects got away, but otherwise no one was seriously injured in the shootout.
It happened Thursday at a converted home business in Inkster, Mich. A man and woman armed with handguns showed up at the door and announced a holdup, despite the security vehicle parked outside, WJBK-TV reported. The receptionist had gone up to greet them, with the business owner sitting in a chair in the corner. Surveillance footage shows the male suspect pointing a gun at the receptionist?s head, and the security guard scrambling in the back office for the rifle.
?The security guard that was inside returned fire, two shots at the suspect. Did not hit him. The suspects then fled the location,? Inkster, Mich. police Lt. Jeffrey Smith told WJBK. ?There was quite a few people inside the location. Very lucky that nobody was seriously injured. The security guard did suffer a wound to the upper leg area, but he?s going to be okay.?
