What sorts of routines have you tried? Different rep and sets combos? Supersets? Dropsets? Super-high volume? If you've plateaued, you need to hit the wheels in a new way.
For example, my calves only grow with super-high volume with heavy weights. I have to do stuff like standing barbell calf raises 4x10 @ 405, standing machine calf raises 5x8 @ 810, and seated calf raises 4x10 @ 150.
Then again, maybe you need to spend a week or two doing low weights and high reps. So, what have you been doing?
For calves I like to do 10/10/10. It's a routine I use when I do 10 raises straight, 10 raises toes in, 10 raises toes out. I do 5 sets of these. Really burns up the calves. You have a calf raise machine right? That's key for this you want to do them weighted.
^Come on guy? The dude is going dead parallel. That's pretty damn good in my book.
Yes. I can definitely see your point and I'm not going to argue it.
He's a Bodybuilder and you don't have to break parallel in the Squat in that sport. I'm a competitive Powerlifter and Powerlifting Coach. If you have 500 lbs on your back and hope to hit that in a Federation where proper depth is a requirement, if you don't train to hit that depth with that weight, the judges won't pass you when you don't. This results in a wasted lift/energy.
