Sterilizing 33mm Caps With Attached Silicone Septas

Hi, I purchased these and noticed they aren't packaged as sterile. Can anyone help me on the best safe way to do this? Thank's in advance.

Thank you. I looked and looked, but could not find it. I saw brundel mention he could explain how to do this if needed on MD, but nobody asked. After closer inspection of my stericup, it appears i may need to use these instead. No big deal, i bought them just in case. These still need sterilization as well tho. I wish they offered them sterile. I own nothing fancy other than an oven and stove, alcohol, etc.

i'm curious as well. I was just gonna rinse them with 90% isoprop alcohol, then rinse w/ benzyl alcohol. whipe down tin foil with isoprop alcohol and make a a 'bag of the tin foil and bake them for a while. it better work.. I got about 3000ml's to do on Thursday. lol

Yes, I'd like to know if anyone has a fool proof method for this. I commented earlier, but for some reason my post needed admin approval. It appears as if my stericup may actually need the 45mm caps, but i did purchase these as well. regardless I need to know how to sterilize these as well. I could not find anything about sterilizing the caps on that thread. Came up pretty empty when using Google as well.

I boil them then pop em in oven at 250 till ready to use then wipe down with alcohol. There will not be a problem I promise

Remember they don't come sterile because you use them over and over

If you have alot to do then its worth you getting a Autoclave, getting autoclave pouches and popping the 45mm caps and septas in the pouch and let the autoclave sterilize them. You can do pouches with one top and septa per pouch so you can store them sterilzed and use as needed. then you can use another pouch to re-sterilze the ones you use. yes its more $ than dry heat but so quicker and you know its done right.

Rinse them with isopropyl before putting in autoclave btw.

i did type a reply but it disappeared.. Get a Autoclave, rince septas and tops in isopropyl alcohol and then get autoclave pouches and sterilize them correctly with the autoclave. Then you can use as required. have them stored in pouches and then as you use them all up you can re sterilize them.
