Actor killed in Southern California car accident on Saturday.

Paul Walker, one of the main stars of the popular Fast and Furious action-movie franchise, was killed on Saturday in a car accident in Santa Clarita, Calif.

The actor's representative, Ame Van Iden, confirmed his death to USA TODAY. He was 40.

Walker had returned home for the holidays from the Atlanta set of Fast and Furious 7 and was scheduled to return next week.

The California native appeared in all but one of the Fast and Furious movies, starring as Brian O'Conner opposite Vin Diesel. Other movie credits include Varsity Blues, Eight Below, Takers and the upcoming Hours, an indie drama set in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina out Dec. 13.

Figures, some bros have no class at all.

I've seen some bad car wrecks and that's right up there at the top, you don't make it out of crashes like that. He seemed like a good guy, never heard anything bad about him.

Production Officially Postponed On Fast & Furious 7
And Universal releases a Paul Walker tribute

Following the shocking death of Paul Walker last weekend it was widely assumed that a lengthy hiatus in the production of Fast & Furious 7 would be necessary, while all involved emotionally processed the tragedy and figured out how to proceed. Universal have now formalised that decision in an official statement, confirming that, for the time being, Fast & Furious 7 has been shut down.

"Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul?s immediate family and our extended Fast & Furious family of cast, crew and filmmakers," reads the missive. "At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise. We are committed to keeping Fast & Furious fans informed, and we will provide further information to them when we have it. Until then, we know they join us in mourning the passing of our dear friend Paul Walker."

The shoot, it seems certain, will not be back underway until the new year, and it would seem impossible for the film now to make its previously-announced release date of July 2014. Roughly half of F&F7's location shooting had been completed in Atlanta, but clearly much was left to do, including a sizeable portion in the Middle East. Walker's scenes were incomplete, necessitating either drastic re-writing or possible re-casting. Some have even suggested that the film will be started over from scratch, although all such details remain rumour and speculation.

Beyond the seventh installment, it seems that Universal currently has no intention of abandoning the $2.4bn franchise, although those decisions too seem premature.

In the meantime, Universal has announced that a percentage of the profits from home-media sales of Fast & Furious 6 will be donated to Walker's charity Reach Out Worldwide. Walker founded the organisation in 2010 following the earthquake in Haiti. It comprises a network of first-response professionals who can be shipped in to augment local expertise to accelerate relief efforts following natural disasters.

"With the passing of Paul, the world has lost a man who spent a great deal of his life in service to others," explained Universal's chairman Donna Langley. "We keep Paul?s memory alive and honor his legacy through continued support of Reach Out WorldWide, the non-profit he founded to give hope to those who must rebuild.?

Universal have also released a video tribute for Paul Walker, which you can check out below.

Paul Walker autopsy report shows nightmarish injuries

After a little over a month following the tragic and horrifying death of Fast and Furious star Paul Walker, the autopsy report has now been released and it shows some unimaginable injuries.

Reports TMZ ?

Walker?s body was laying supine in the passenger seat in a ?pugilistic stance? ? that?s a defensive position, as if he were bracing himself for impact.

He had multiple fractures throughout his body, including his jaw, collarbone, left upper arm. There were also various ribs and pelvic fractures.

The report concludes Walker died from ?combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries? sustained from the Nov. 30 crash in Santa Clarita, CA.

The report also says that the driver of the car, Roger Rodas, suffered major head trauma with the top portion of his skull fractured and his brain exposed.

Paul Walker's Brothers to Fill In for Late Actor in Some Fast & Furious 7 Scenes

Caleb and Cody Walker are joining the Fast & Furious family.

According to a message posted on the Fast & Furious 7 Facebook page , Paul Walker 's two brothers will fill in for the late actor in order to complete some of his unfinished scenes in the upcoming flick, which has finally resumed filming after Paul's death last year .

"The Fast & Furious saga is about family," reads the post. "The characters are connected by the bond of family, and it is how all of us who have worked together for more than thirteen years feel about each other. It certainly defines how we feel about our fans."

"Paul had already shot his dramatic scenes and most of his action for Fast & Furious 7, and it's among the strongest work of his career," it goes on. "We have resumed shooting and now welcome Paul's brothers, Caleb and Cody, into our Fast family. Caleb and Cody are helping us complete some remaining action for their brother and fill in small gaps left in production. Having them on set has made us all feel that Paul is with us too."

The message goes on to say that the franchise's seventh installment, and Paul's last, is "the most important we've ever done together. It will allow the character of Brian O'Conner to live on and let us celebrate Paul in his most defining role."

"We wanted to take a moment to speak to our fans directly and thank you for the love and support you always show us as we resume our work," the message concludes.

Fast & Furious 7 resumed filming just last month. The film is set to hit theaters Apr. 15, 2015.
