Harvard Poll: US Youth Unhappy with Obama's Job Performance

My Poll: I'm unhappy with todays youths job performance.....a ha

they finally figured out they've been lied to and that he's an incompetent failure with zero leadership skills. it's about time....

The more important question is, "Who is not unhappy with Obama?". I know it's not the pharmaceutical and health care companies.

it's called economics 101. the majority of the nations income goes to those with a propensity to save vs spend due to high amounts of disposable income. this money is is being "stored" by purchasing various assets. whether it's long or short term investments the money is basically sitting idle. it's why the velocity of money has been constantly decreasing since right before the tech sector bubble burst.

Velocity of M2 Money Stock (M2V) - FRED - St. Louis Fed

not even the republican manufactured housing bubble had any effect on labors share of the national income, because it was all debt based.

Nonfarm Business Sector: Labor Share (PRS85006173) - FRED - St. Louis Fed

I've posted dozens of papers on this topic. it's going to take the private sector in the US a good 6-10 more years to de-leverage from those record debt levels that peaked in 2008.

then you also have to factor in the new workers right now are getting paid less than they would have normally had the 2008 downturn not occurred and then there are those that are educated but laden with debt from student loans.

the US economy will NEVER RETURN to the "fake glory" days of the 2000's, this is the new normal.

american youths made justin beiber a superstar. they are idiots and no one cares what they like. plus, they could have polled people at a kkk rally for all we know. :coffee:

46 percent, said they still would vote for Obama if they could recast their 2012 ballots, compared with 35 percent who said they would vote for Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
they might be not entirely pleased with Obama but looks like they still think the better guy won.

only magic could "fix" the US economy right now. we suffered two separate negative economic events with the housing bubble burst AND the financial collapse occurring one after the other. prior to that we had the weakest economic expansion in the US in about 40 years and that was from 2001-2008. recessions after weak economic expansions are always worse then you have to add in all of the other negative effects from the housing bubble and fall in asset, household net worth's dropped by 40-50%, job losses, etc.

Japan's housing market crashed in 1992 and their central bank is still lending at less than 1% now 20 years later. their real GDP growth is just as bad as ours but they have 50% less people, smaller financial sector, less inequality, having DE-industrialized, etc.

Harvard ? Unless this was your 1st presidential election you're supposed to know that all presidents disillusion the masses, and yes, the youth are the last to be disillusioned.

Youth is wasted on the young.

Obama care is Bush's fault...

yep and Obama has no clue about it. he just continues the policies of the past.

And his appointment of Janet just confirms he is out to destroy the poor and middle class.

the economic system is working just as it was designed labor in the US has been completely subjugated by finance capital and the nations wealth is flowing upwards with inequality constantly increasing annually. excess consumption is fueled by debt by those that have access to sufficient credit.

the US financial sector creates nothing of value but is about to pass the tech sector in terms of the percentage of "profits" generated by S&P 500 firms. finance is about 20% and the tech sector a close 18%. you can't have a strong "profitable" financial sector and labor force as they compete for the same resources.

it's why you don't see monstrous financial sectors in any other country in the world which has a healthy functioning middle class. as an example you don't see the financial sector in Germany causing recessions or bribing politicians to inact legislation that allows them to seek rents.

The White House should start a weekly segment called "Shit Obama Lies About".

It's good to know that you hold nothing against GWB. After all, he was just doing the same.

About time? At least they figured it out. Dumb ass republican fuckheads still refuse to acknowledge how bad the Bush administration fucked the country. It took me about two years to realize that Obama was either completely incompetent, or one of the best lairs ever. People back home in Alabama still think GWB did a good job.

I believe that the whinny nature of general liberals also causes them to realize they are getting fucked a little faster than conservatives who value fortitude more than liberals. It is a good situation where a negative quality has a positive effect, and a positive quality has a negative effect.

have you actually looked at the number of bills passed in the GWB and Obama admins?

serious intervention in the markets via legislation with the GWB admin vs almost a complete lack of it under the Obama admin. it's comical to hear people constantly complaining about government "intervening" and then they still complain when it doesn't.

The number of bills passed mean jack squat. Not intervening? How about Obama denying more Freedom of Information Act requests than Bush? How about all the other crap that Obama has done -- just like Bush -- that is taking rights and wealth away from the American people?

Once again, you're using excuses to give Obama a pass, but when those same excuses are applied to Bush, you get you all bent out of shape.

uh? you always say the potus doesn't have any power over the economy but if it's a republican they do?

LAM will shit on the republicans then if a dem is outed for doing something shitty he'll shift blame and say republicans are just as bad and all politicians are evil. It's a clear bias. He just uses that language to sound nonpartisan but probably doesn't realize how easy it is to see through.

of course I'm biased history and empirical data clearly shows that the politics out of the left which are more progressive create more sustainable economy's and more healthy and balanced societies. the best performing country's across the world do you see them adopting progressive or laze fare economic policy?

what happens to every single country that adopts right wing neo-liberal policies?

when nations across the world get into debt does the IMF and World Bank subject them to progressive economic policies or right wing neo-liberal economic policies?

has the US military been supporting progressive policies around the world for the past 50 years or neo-liberal policy?

the CIA has been under complete control by the neo-cons since it's exception post WWII. does it advance progressive or neo-liberal policies?

mfw when stealing money from workers to pay lazy sacks of shit is called "healthy" and "balanced"

Obama care is Bush's fault...

It's the conservatives fault.
Obamacare was originally a Republican conservative healthcare model.

They came up with the idea of a government mandated healthcare insurance coverage model that is based on government subsidies funding a private insurance company healthcare insurance market and financial penalties.
In 1974 President Nixon proposed the model for Obamacare
Romney implemented Romneycare in Mass.
Obamacare is is based on those two Republican healthcare delivery models.

The irony of Republican disapproval of Obamacare - CSMonitor.com

In February 1974, Republican President Richard Nixon proposed, in essence, today's Affordable Care Act. Under Nixon's plan all but the smallest employers would provide insurance to their workers or pay a penalty, an expanded Medicaid-type program would insure the poor, and subsidies would be provided to low-income individuals and small employers. Sound familiar ? Private insurers were delighted with the Nixon plan but Democrats preferred a system based on Social Security and Medicare, and the two sides failed to agree.
Thirty years later a Republican governor, Mitt Romney, made Nixon's plan the law in Massachusetts. Private insurers couldn't have been happier although many Democrats in the state had hoped for a public system.
When today's Republicans rage against the individual mandate in the Affordable Care Act, it's useful to recall this was their idea as well.
