    Grinding the weaknesses --POWER LIFTING






    First of all lemme thank PIT for bringing me into this sub forum

    This is a PL thread featuring me, and on occasions I may... Okay I will... Post up a video of my girlfriends accomplishments as well. We are both beginner power lifters I currently hold two records and she holds three records
    I have a top ten bench in the Southern Powerlifting Federation and the number one bench in the Revolution Powerlifting Syndicate.

    I am known as a bencher, but we all gotta start somewhere so once my legs and deadlifts are up to par.., well watch out...

    Remember, PL isn't just tossing weight up. Lots of strategy, energy, patience and practice go into this. People might be like what 415 bench that's it ? Well remember lifting under regulated rules and commands is quite different then tossing something up in the gym.

    Current meet standings:
    385lbs Squat
    415lbs Bench
    445lbs Deadlift

    Current Gym approximations
    420lbs Squat
    430lbs Bench
    460lbs Deadlift

    Weaknesses:
    Quads
    Glutes
    Abs
    Triceps

    Ready to grind?


    Lets keep this constructive... Plenty of people have problems with me, but lets remember this thread isn't the place for that.

    Started with light squat,
    155 x 5
    205x 5
    295 x 3
    335 x 1

    Had a misunderstanding when I walked in but whatever thought we were starting squats but I was wrong

    Then started deadlifts up to 1rm with the green micro mini

    Got up to 335 and at the top the added resistance almost broke my grip

    Dropped it to 225 with bands and did 3x8

    Glute ham raise 5x10
    Hyper ext with ball 5x10

    Tonight's my leg day a swell. Question for ya, is there any particular reason for doing deads on leg day rather back day? I understand the work both but was curious why you did them on legs. I do them on back.

    We alternate heavy squat and heavy deadlift
    So one Saturday it will be heavy deads and light squat
    Another it will be heavy squat and light deadlift

    My coach has his own method to the madness it has been working well so far
    During the week is never max effort

    Hmm... Well, his madness makes sense to me. My legs are a lagging body part compared to my upper body though I do and always have worked them. They aren't small but just don't fit with my upper body. Was gonna start to hit them twice a week to play catch up on them and might implement this theory to see if I can get some better results. I'm always looking for new things to change up the routine. Thanks.

    Works great for me sense my lower body is weak
    So you aren't exhausting your lower body doing the same thing every Saturday. Alternate your maximal lifts and work the submaximal as well. Develop the base and work on some volume

    Eating my oatmeal and drinking my naked.... Time for chest wheeee

    Last night some douche was running around shirtless trying to fight people at the bar after the UFC fight. He got kicked out. Somehow got back in. Cops came::: outside when talking with the cops he managed to take his shirt off again... God it was priceless

    Started bench with monster mini resistance doubles up it's about 100lbs of resistance

    Worked up to 355 plus band resistance I was very happy with that

    Then we did 80% for 2 x 5

    Next we moved to pin presses six sets of one

    Then we did some triceps using the safety bar, I find it annoying but definitely lights me up

    Then we moved to chest supported rows work them lats and back a little bit

    Finished with dips 1 set all out
    Done

    Very much so, I was also super happy with the bench 1rm because I been off the test and tren sense the 15th and been partying a tad (which I don't normally do) ... You know the holidays, just got done with a meet. Gonna do some fun with the girlfriend before we get back Into a solid routine

    3 more days of vacation then back to real life... Work and training
    Ahhhhh

    Honestly can't wait the beers and junk food and down time is wearing me down, it's nice and the break is nice but I am almost... Yeah almost ready for the reality of real life again

    This is exactly how I train for my squats.and deads. Works great at preventing cns burn out, at tje same time saving your lower back. Which is usually the weak link on those days. Awesome job
