    Best bodybuilder ever.

I wanted to start this thread to hear who you guys think the best bodybuilder of all time is and WHY? This is the important part, why do you feel this way? What makes them the best? Did the win 8 Olympias or did they simply advance the sport in a way no other bodybuilders have been able to do?

Let me know what you guys think!

I will go with Arnold. I know their are others, gaspari,mentzer,kai,heath,..etc.. but as far as giving the most back to the sport and bringing the publics attention to the positive parts of the sport I say Arnold is the one.

It might seem unorthodox to say but I would have to go with Franco Columbu. At 5'4", winning 2 olympia's, holding powerlifting records (amazing totals), and acting in movies as Arnold did, I feel like he is one of the most underestimated bb'ers in history.

I have to say I agree with all of you. Coleman held shit down, Arnold pretty well made bodybuilding what it is, and columbo is fucking awesome. Why no talk of Yates though?

Boy that's a tough one! If you had to go for sheer wins it would be Ronnie Coleman, Lee Haney, and Vince Taylor. If you went with guys that put bodybuilding on the map you could go with Arnold, Lou, and Steve Reeves. This is really almost an impossible question for me to answer. Just to many great choices!

Jay did a TON to advance bodybuilding also. He really put a face on bodybuilding. Not so often do you see jacked white guys with a full head of blonde hair. I think that helped him a lot. He is also very nice and social so being the way he is, he was a great poster boy for bodybuilding when he was in his prime.

Surprised no one mentioned Frank Zane. Definitely not the biggest guy around, but still made it work. I think he's up there.

I was gonna be really upset that nobody mentioned Yates, until I saw tl's post. Dorian is hands down the biggest shock value to ever be brought to stage. He brought a package that blew every contestant away. and for a guy with his frame to be able to stand up to Coleman??? pshhh. C'mon. I have a ton of fav bb'rs but Yates takes the cake. With Franco and Mentzer being close seconds.
