Does high estrogen in itself cause a decrease in libido? If so, how so?

OR.....

Does high estrogen cause a decrease in libido because "high" estrogen affects the thyroid and it's hormones in a negative way?

This is my bro science wild ass guess (Bswag). An increase in estrogen is usually a conversion of testosterone to estrogen. So if one was converting testosterone to estrogen that would be a loss of total testosterone. A lost of testosterone would result in lower libido.

It sounds good to me.

*facepalm* dead god.

Anyone else please?

if you are taking / increasing test levels your body will naturally try to counter that or balance its called homeostasis you increase test your body increases estrogen, some drugs aromitize like dbol and will convert to estrogen. Estrogen not only blocks receptors that the T is heading for but also cancels new receptors so you have less being made.

Nyde,
We all come here to help each other and learn. Some of us teach and other learn before they can teach.
When I provided my response it was not a smart ass answer and I believed it to be correct. Your response to me was *facepalm* dead god, which makes me believe the info I provided you was incorrect or false.
Since you are clearly the teacher and I am the student I am taking this moment to call you out. So please provide me with the errors of my way. Show me where I went wrong. Take out your RED pen and please correct me. I am here to learn and I don’t want to provide anyone with bad info again.
Master Nyde you now have the floor. I am all ears waiting to absorb your knowledge.

Yes it's a negative feed back system where when the level of one thing, in this case testosterone, increases to a particular level a negative response kicks in to bring it back into the normal range. Most endocrine hormones as well as other body systems ( coagulation cascade for example) can bring on this reaction and its what keeps things balanced. We who like to push things beyond the normal physiological levels therefore have to use substances to turn off or at least turn down the neg feedback so that we can keep the levels of the target hormone higher than our bodies would usu allow.

I had my estro sky high, at 219 because my AI was bunk, and I was still horny, mainly from the large amount of test I was on. But if you have high estro and low test it will effect your drive

How high of test were you on?

Cyp or Prop?

Excess estrogen can cause a reduction in endogenously produced testosterone, which can lead to lividipo issues, but this usually isn't the cause in steroids users, as most steroid user are supplementing with exogenous testosterone.

The male body requires both testosterone and estrogen in order to maintain normal sexual function/libido. Too much or too little estrogen can cause sexual problems, even when an abundance of testosterone is present. Generally speaking, you want to try and maintain estrogen levels within the normal range, although slight or even moderate elevations often cause no harm in this area, as was demonstrated by the poster above who, despite having an estrogen level of 219, was functioning just fine. Most likely, his elevated testosterone level allowed him to overcome the potentially negative influence of such a high estrogen level. However, everyone will eventually reach a point, if estrogen gets high enough, where sexual issues start to manifest. Still, it is not the same for everyone--some people seem to be more or less sensitive to the effects of high estrogen on sexual function. It is the same with estrogen deficiency. The body requires at least some estrogen to function normally, without which problems set in.

This is why some people have problems when using too high of an AI dose, while others have the same problems when not using any AI. In the first case, estrogen deficiency would be the cause, while estrogen excess would be the cause in the latter. For this reason, you should avoid the extremes. The body requires a certain balance between these 2 hormones and while you can get away with disturbing this balance a little bit, if you push it too far, it will eventually come back to bite you in the ass.

Well...I have little to no libido and all I use is test prop. I can use an AI or no AI and still have the same low libido as usual. Don't know how to make myself better in terms of libido improvement.

And giving myself high, low, or even medium doses of HCG doesnt work. In fact, HCG tends to make me feel worse as in moody, slow, weaker, apathetic.

get some BW done and see whats happening inside, its 50 bucks and well worth it. You can post your results and IM members will help you understand the results

Most people use privatemdlabs

Already done that and non of it makes sense. I most def guaranDAMNtee you that if I post all my blood work EVERYONE is going to say...."Idk man! Looks like you're within range, you should have a libido". Well, I don't.

High E, Low E, Med E, spot on point E.....NO LIBIDO!

No! Not taking any else BUT testosterone, thats it!

So is levitra weaker than viagra? I just wanted to try it because I read that it doesn't cause sensivitiy issues on the penis like the way viagra does.

If your estrogen is within a normal range and your test is at least higher-normal range...and it has been this way for a while, then there is probably another cause. Prolactin can screw up your libido. In BB'rs it is usually due to using Tren and/or Deca, but prolactinemia can occur from other causes unrelated to BB'ing/drug use.

What if I told my prolactin levels are fine? See what I mean??? Everything is in check! Nothing makes sense! LOL

And what is "normal range" for estrogen? Seems like it doesnt matter. There are guys with E2 levels of 200plus and still have libidos! My has been in all ranges from 30's up to 90's and still NO LIBIDO!

My opinion it is problematic signaling in the arcuate nucleus in the limbic section of the brain.

Correctable how?

You don't want the answer. It's to get off all the hormones and if you have not done permanent damage your body will reestablish proper signaling. Otherwise you can play around with the usual drugs. Cabergoline and cialis are the two that most directly address the problem but they are temporary. So you have a choice. It's part of the game. If you can't stand periodic sexual dysfunction then get off the drugs and stay natural.
