I am getting surgery soon and I was told that my right pec will only be at 80% strength for the rest of my life. Anyone had a similar situation or tear? I don't like hearing that shit .

Not sure if I agree. Again, I am using experience from what I have seen. My brother in law completely tore his right pec & waited months before actually getting treated. He's back to bench pressing like normal as well as competitive fighting.
If you got it treated right away and don't prolong the surgery, you'll be fine. It will just take time.
