The best time to drink any protein supplement is right after your workout. Because when you workout your muscle tissues are broken that is called muscle breakdown. Muscles are exhausted and need nutrition to repair them. That is when protein comes into picture. When you take protein after ur workout the protein will break down to amino acids and it will act as nourishment to ur torn muscle tissues. The best among protein supplement is whey protein as it acts instantly. There are many times of proteins- egg, soy, cassein, plant protein, animal protein etc. But I prefer whey and egg protein due to its fast digestion and bio availability Percentage.

If you don't workout then you can have not more than 1 scoop a day. You can use it during breakfast, before workout, also before bedtime.ore than 1 scoop a day. You can use it during breakfast, before workout, also before bedtime. Thanks!

Misinformation

Dr Brad Schoenfeld's research determined having protein immediately after a workout isn't vital. Consuming it later it the day is just as effective.

Whey Protein

It is considered the "Anabolic Protein" due to it high percentage of Leucine; which trigger muscle growth via mTOR, Mammalian Target of Rapamycin.

Protein Mixes

Protein mix that combine Fast, Medium and Slow Protein provide optimal results.

Whey is a fast protein.

Egg is a medium protein.

Caseinate is a slow protein.

Thus, combining them ensure a time time released effect for better recovery.

It Depends on the protein supplement you are talking about:

There are mainly two types of protein supplements that are used in bodybuilding. Whey protein and casein protein. Both are made up of milk. 20% of the milk is whey protein and the rest 80% is casein.

Whey Protein: Whey Protein is a fast digesting protein, so it needs to be consumed right after your workout so that it can help in faster muscle recovery that your muscles need right after the workout. On an average count, you need to take 2 scoops of whey protein per day. 1 right after your workout and another on morning/evening.
Casein Protein: Casein is a slow digesting protein, so the best time to take it is right before bed. Why? Because for the next 7?8 hours you are not going to feed anything to your body and muscles. But as casein is slow digesting protein, it takes 5?6 hours to digest which gives your muscle steady stream of protein for the nest 5?6 hours.
So, these are the best time to take these two protein supplements. Whichever you are using, just take it to its time.
