Bodybuilding and sports doping may see huge changes due to new Chinese laws

In 2020, New Chinese Laws Go Into Effect That May Have A Major Impact On Underground Drug Labs

Bodybuilding and sports doping may see huge changes due to new Chinese laws.

According to recent reports, new laws in China will go into effect January 2020 that will lead to a huge crackdown in illegal underground drug labs. These labs often smuggle performance enhancing drugs across China’s borders, supplying PEDs to athletes across the globe.

On November 18, the Supreme People’s Court issued the ‘Interpretation On Several Issues Concerning The Application Of Law In The Trial Of Criminal Cases Of Smuggling, Illegal Business and Illegal Use Of Stimulants.’ This set of approved laws is set to go into effect on January 1, 2020.

So what does this all mean? According to the provisions in the issued laws, the issue of conviction and sentencing of doping crimes has been stipulated. Meaning that there will now be conviction and sentencing standards for substances listed in the smuggling stimulant list. These laws also stipulated that if the listed substances are illegally traded, that the smugglers can also be convicted and punished.

These provisions also state that the use of these listed substances will lead to conviction. Athletes who test positive for the listed substances will be convicted and punished for cheating.

What this all comes down to is that the raw materials that have been smuggled across the globe and used in illegal underground drug labs will now be much harder to come by – and much more risky to use. Ideally, this will lead to less dangerous PEDs being circulated among bodybuilders and athletes.

Will it stop smuggling completely? Most likely not, as drug trade is near impossible to stop. But perhaps this will be the beginning of a new era in bodybuilding and sports as a whole. One that pulls away from a seemingly dangerous path filled with much too young deaths as we’ve heard reports of over the years.

For those interested in the details of the legal behind all of this, you can read a full translation (albeit an unofficial translation) of the laws set in place --> https://www.chinalawtranslate.com/en...nterpretation/

I dont believe this line at all:

Ideally, this will lead to less dangerous PEDs being circulated among bodybuilders and athletes.

    We will see.

Where there is demand, there will be a supply. Always has, always will.
