Anyone getting as excited as I am? I love the Olympic games so much. I love the fact that these people train their asses off for 4 whoel years and get only one attempt to give it all they got!! It isn't like they get a few months off and then the season starts again. The Olympics is were it is at in my opinion. I know a girl that is training for the Winter Olmpics in 2 years, she does skeleton (aka bobsled). Seeing how she trains so hard just to get at a shot at the trials I have so much respect for these people. I am getting really pumped watching the trials. Anyone else really into the Olmpics?

Yeah, i think its pretty damn cool... havent had much TV coverage of the trials around here, though. Personally, i really hate the way they always have such shitty TV coverage... usually only show a few different sports, and a lot of it is broken up throughout the day. They should have one or two channels that just run various events 24/7.

fucc the olympics. If they televised the events that we might actually wanna watch then maybe I would be interested, maybe. Instead all we see are the swimming and gymastics. I really could care less. I wanna see the basketball games and the weight lifting, but I swear to god if I see another dance routine I am gonna slit my throat. Not to mention the HUGMONGOUS problem I have with the Anti doping committees and the special interests groups that are all invloved with influencing the public perception about AAS. That is ALL the fault of these groups. Notice how whenever steroids are brought up in a discussion among these ignorant pansies, they are always referred to as "performance enhcancing drugs"? They are cosmetic drugs for gods sake that increase strength, they do not increase athletic ability and how many of AAS users are proffessional or olympic athletes? a very small percentage! so eth rest of us have to be persecuted as criminals bc/ we wanna become more asthetically pleasing b/c of these fuccin idiots! touchy subject for me, can ya tell..lol I am done now

I love the Summer Olympic. Damn, but I saw Mo Greene smoke a 9.93 in the 100m final today at the track and field trials. And, Billy Mills  , sits just two rows in front of me. I got a pic with him. :D Men's pole vault today was also awesome! (Heh, those guys are seriously hot!) :thumb: Whew, and I have tickets for all 8 days. :thumb: :D Looking forward to the 200m, 1500m, 5000m, women's 10,000m, and the women's pole vault in the upcoming days. Stacey Dragila (Auburn native, which is a suburb of Sac.) kicks ass.

Sacto also has the NCAA Track and Field Championships for the next 3 years. :)
*Edit, on a side note, I seriously am getting dark and my tan is all funky from sitting on my ass all day and sweating bullets.

I LOVE the Olympics too!! :D I'm probably going to drive my future room mates crazy wanting to watch it all the time  I'm especially interested when Sweden has a good athlete, like Carolina Klüft :)

I'll be watching :rocker:

Yeah, watching mo green was awsome!!

GR81- they usually show the weighlifting late at night (that is my favorite part also). the baskeball is usually showen later at night as well. I know what you mean, I hate the fact that those events don't get more press covereage. But I am still amazed at the athleticism of the track events (wish they would show the shot put more also) and the swimmers and gymanstic chicks.

I LOVE them too - especially the Summer Games. Ever since I was a kid I get really excited. Track and Field and Women's Gymnastics are my favorites. :thumb:

I find myself totally enthralled by ballroom dancing. Such beauty, such majesty! What a sport! And all those stars, wow! There's that gay guy with the girl w/great legs & then there's that other gay guy with another girl w/great legs.......truly great athletes one and all.

When will it be on, I wonder? Maybe late at night, instead of all that useless basketball & weightlifting. Who needs the Dream Team, when I can watch a homo waltz around with a beautiful woman that he has absolutely no interest in.....:heartpump

I think this "sport" best captures the whole olimpic spirit (a bunch of fruitcakes with a few hot chicks mixed in).
And the best part? We get to repeat the whole thing in the winter too! Then we can watch fruits on ice!!!! Yay! (Plus there's Canada's #1 "sport", organized power-sweeping. :thumb: )

jk, I like soccer too. :nanner:

Sorry I missed this post! I LOVE the Olympics! I watched most of the gymnastic trials and caught a little swimming. I had the opportunity to meet one of Dara Torres' (Olympic swimmer-9 time gold medalist) trainers a few weeks ago. Amazing! I'd love to train elite athletes someday. Sad that we only get something good to watch on TV every 4 years though. :p

 I just got rid of cable a few months ago and I dont miss it at all. Whats the benefit of 60 channels of crap over 4 channels of crap? :p I can get Seinfeld, the news, and the Olympics on local channels, so I'm set. :D

Porn, my friend, it's all about the porn.

Oh..I got lots of that on vid and DVD. And not the softcore cable bullshit either. :hehe:

Bastard, now I'm jealous!
Oh well back to Spice channel's 6-hour special, "The Best of Ron Jeremy". :scared:

Awesome! I'd love to check that out. Seems most of the training facilities are out west. The commentators talked about Cali a lot during the gymnastic trials.

Why is it that all Cali people think its the center of the universe?

LOL. Well, why does everyone move here? Seriously though, Cali has hills, mountains, the beach, the desert, anything you want and all sorts of climates.

:D :D I'm just stoked about the Track and Field Trials right now though. No competition Tues. and Wed., but then competition till Sunday.

...and smog, insane gun control laws, S. Central LA, etc... :hehe:
I've actually always wanted to see nor cal. Looks beautiful!

I'm getting pretty psyched for the swimming. I was on my high school team (I sucked at it) and have always loved watching people compete.

LA blows IMO, unless it's something like Santa Monica or something. I LOVE NorCal. Born here, raised here, and probably will die here.

One thing about Cali though, it does have crappy ass smog and car regulations. I want limo tint on my car and I want my car louder damn it. Haha.

Damn, I'm missing all the swimming going to the track events all day. I get update via ESPN. That's also how I'm catching my Tour de France. Gotta love OLN replays of it though.

Haha, I saw the big boys in the shot yesterday. LOL, took them so long do their victory lap.

I'm so jealous! I'd love to see that stuff in person! :grumble:

Only been to one MLB game, one NBA game, and one indoor soccer game, but I've been to sooo many NFL games, the Super Bowl, and now the Olympic Track and Field Trials....my dad knows how much I love track and field though, so this is sort of my b-day present I guess....at least I think it is lol.
I can't freakin believe that I sit two rows above Billy Mills.  The past two days, I was like, this man and his family look so familiar....yesterday after people came up for autographs, it finally dawned on me.
