IML Gear Cream!
Hi Everyone,
I need some advise about what I am eating prior to my early morning workouts.
About 30-40 minutes before working out(either intervals or weights) I have once scoop of whey protein and non-fat yogurt. I understand that whey protein digests pretty fast so it is "ok" to have pre-workout, but what about the yogurt? Would skim milk be better? Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated and put to use.
Thank you.....

I try to eat a little of everything. Here is my usual breakfast:

1/2 cup flax cereal (~140 calories)
1/2 cup 2% milk (~60 calories)
4 egg whites (~120 calories)
1 whole egg (~80 calories)
8oz apple juice (~120 calories)
20G brewer's yeast (~80 calories)
Total (~600 calories)

Lots of protein, carbs, and fat. Is it optimal? I'm not really sure, but it works for me. I figure that your body probably needs a little of everything upon first waking up. The milk and apple juice give me a little bit of an insulin spike to increase the absorption rate of the nutrients.

there is nothing wrong with what you are doing now. this is an excellent way to use whey since it is digested and metabolized rapidly. if you need more energy to get your through the workout you could also eat a small serving of whole oats...
