I have a general question. i heard that the max one should eat in proteins is 1 gram per pound of mass, and anything more than that is too much. im trying to take in about 3000 cal a day. how can i do this without going overboard on the portein? i taking in about 190-200 grams a day. Im trying to get 35% protein 55% carbs and 10% fat. i eat pretty clean.

im about 5'9" 150 pounds. im trying to get to 170.
 
There really is no 'right' amount of protein to consume. You could consume 5g per pound of bodyweight if you wanted to: you just wouldnt be able to absorb it all.

Instead of 55/35/10, go 50/30/20 ratio of c/p/f. As your goals shift from getting big to getting cut, drop the fats back to 15%.
 
So, in other words, the body eliminates all excessive proteins ?
