Mushrooms

They are high in Selinium and other nutrients that have been shown to have protective qualities against prostate cancer.

Relativly low in calories (they're mostly water) and pretty yummy. They do absorb alot of fat when cooking so take it real easy if you try to saute them.

I think they are a great choice if trying to "extend" an otherwise bland meal.
 
No fat in shrooms....

they can absorb fat...like if you try to cook them in butter or oil.... they soak it all up

I don't think there's any fat in shrooms (not enough to be of any signifigance) I meant to say that its very easy to keep adding oil to the pan when sauteing them because mushrooms are like sponges and will absorb the fat quickly......So you think you have to add more oil to the pan and be for you know it .....

what could you safely saute mushroom in that would still give them the moist taste as if in tons of butter :D
