I'm not trying to plug anything...it's free and I get nothing by mentioning it, but it's a great tool to have in ANYBODY'S arsenal.
Personally, I don't like fitday - it is inaccurate (it doesn't take into consideration fiber and it also has inaccurate measurements for some ingredients eg: chicken breast and broccoli).
I usually suggest www.nutridiary.com or www.nutritiondata.com as two better calorie counting tools.
I don't have any problems with fitday b/c I customize almost everything that I eat and I tend to eat the same stuff a lot...I can understand your POV though.
