Only 2% of Americans are uninsured and very dissatisfied with their health care.

A new study reveals that only 2% of Americans are uninsured and "very dissatisfied" with their health care. An additional 2% were "somewhat dissatisfied."

Can someone please explain to me why Democrats are pushing socialized healthcare? Is there anyone even running for the Democratic nomination who doesn't list this as one of their top priorities?

Here's is a look at what you can expect when the Nation's largest, most corrupt, and most inefficient organization gets control of medicine:

"Despite all of the promises made by Canada's provincial and federal governments, and despite the fact that Canadians are spending more on health care than ever before, the total wait time in Canada continues to hover near the 18-week mark as it has since 2003,
    ...
Patients referred to a neurosurgeon waited an average of 21 weeks just to see a specialist. Getting treatment required an additional 10.7 weeks.
    ....
The number of people routinely waiting for services is staggering, according to the report. In 2003, the most recent year for which data were available from Statistics Canada, approximately 1.1 million people had trouble accessing care on a timely basis.
    ...
Because health care in Canada is largely free at the point of service, demand is likely to exceed supply...
    ...
"It's like the old Soviet system," Gratzer said. "Everything is free, but nothing is readily available. Except that we're not talking about lining up for toilet paper in Russia in 1976, but queuing for surgery in Canada in 2006."
    ....
According to the study, Canadian provinces with higher spending per capita did not experience shorter wait times than provinces that spent less. In fact, increased spending was associated with longer waits."

2%? Have you lost your fucking mind Clemson? Those numbers can't be remotely close to being accurate. I don't have insurance, and most of my friends don't either.

I will never understand how people can be so absolutely, mind-numbingly unintelligent. Do you have to try? Is it a goal?

Do you understand that some people opt not to buy health insurance? It is possible for people to be uninsured and receive good medical care. In other words, if a study shows that 2% of people are uninsured AND very dissatisfied with their healthcare, you pointing out that more than 2% of people are uninsured refutes nothing.

So far you have demonstrated a fundamental lack of understanding of even basic concepts. I am talking about people who go without treatment, you keep talking about the uninsured. Its two different groups, which admittedly overlap some, but you keep using them interchangeably.

At an average price of $500 a month for a family of three they don't "OPT" out ... they're left out. Hmmmmm lemme see here .... pay the electric bill or have health insurance hmmmmm That is of course if you are talking about a family with no pre-existing health issues. If there are some illness histories then coverage either goes way up or gets out right denied.

You try to run a thread that implies America is happy with their health care and call US absolutely, mind-numbingly unintelligent? You should use your health care benefits and get a check from the neck up. If I were you that would be my goal ...

45-47 million out of a total population of 301 million is more than 2%.

The health care system is going to crush any plans you have of ever retiring when you're old (even with Medicare) unless something is done about medical costs and pharmaceutical costs.

Yes, you can still receive quality health care when you're uninsured. I think the real problem is that people are trashing their credit and screwing hospitals because they don't have the money to pay for this quality health care.

Oh yeah, and LOTS of people not getting the medical attention they need because they lack health care.

    And this is called, "preventative."

How can you all not realize how screwed up the medical situation is?

And I'm not really talking about the uninsured.

    The Insured are getting hammered.

You better enjoy life now, and not plan on retiring with a 401K.
