Weight Loss, Fat Loss.
Hi,
My goal at the moment is to lose weight and lose fat. Now I also know that do this effectively requires some muscle development to help burn more calories. My current workout involves 45-60 minutes of cardio and the rest in core machines. My total workout time is usually 2hrs. I workout 2-4 times a week. I am planning to take whey protein every morning and post workout next week. I am keeping my calorie intake 500 less than my maintenance but I am not that particular at the moment on healthy foods. I just make sure the calorie is counted. Any advice if I am on the right track? Anything I can do to improve my routine? -Mike |

Here's an article on caloric intake:
Strong and Fit: Lose Fat, Build Muscle: How Many Calories Should I Eat? Be sure you are getting enough protein--1 gram per lb of body weight.

Thanks for the reply mate. I have started taking Whey protein and yea, I know about 1gram per pound of body weight.
What I wanted to ask is the type of food. Say a wheat tuna sandwich has 400 calories and a cheesburger has the same 400 calories. Does this affect my weight loss since both foods has the same calories? Does it matter to weight loss which I eat? My question is regarding principles of calorie intake. I know that obviously, the cheeseburger is worse due to less healthy contents like less fiber, more salt and fat, etc. Just wondering calorie wise and weight loss, is there a difference? -Mike |
