Levator Scapula/ Posture

I have problem where my shoulders round forward. I think i need to use less weight on exercises and focus more on form. However when i read articles on correct rowing form.. they seem to indicate i'm doing them correctly. My question is when i do tbar rows and seated rows (for example) before i row the weight should i be getting my shoulder blades together prior to initiatiing the movements? Currently i've been getting stronger.. just taking the weight and rowing it from an un-retracted form and retracting on the peak movement.. but it just seems the problem is not being addressed. My leavtor scapula and rhomboids is what i need to target i believe... I'm turning OCD on this.. all help is more than appreciated.

Get a video of your form.

The shoulders should retract and depress.

But, this is not the main problem. One can strengthen the muscles that stabilize the scapula till you are blue in the face. If you don't correct thoracic spine extension first though, they will always give up their stability in order to allow for more shoulder mobility.

Got a photo of your posture? Maybe it isn't that bad and you are over obsessing.
