How long will it take and how much will i gain
i have no idea about who long it takes to gain muscle mass but i was wondering if anyone else could give me an idea.
i train every day for approx. 1.5-2hrs a night doing various dumbbell curls of 10 sets of 40 reps on each arm and bench presses of 10 sets of 35 reps (which i have both marginally increased in number) ive only just started but im using a weight that challenges my muscles i know this because i actually feel them being used so to speak and normaly feel sore the following day, ive stuck to this router for just over one week but i was wondering how long it would take to gain some muscle mass or how much i can expet to gain after a certain amount of time of sticking to this regime??? |

7 years and you will gain approximately 80lbs...
Seriously, how could anyone answer that? In all honesty, looking at your training program my guess would be you are on a fast track to no gains. patrick

do less reps with more heavier weight.. do 5 sets of like 5-8 reps where on the last set ur struggling to get it p those 5 or 8 times.. that's some basic knowledge i have, and most important, what you are eating is the thing that makes a huge difference... diet is a good key to muscle gains i'm only a noobie and there is alot more people here that have a lot more stuff to say on this
highest 1 rep max bench = 300 (now 245)

Honestly, so long as you are eating a lot any sort of training style will give you gains, so long as it's balanced and provides you with ample rest time.

is that true because i read something couple of days ago that the whole less reps high weight was a myth because for example (keep numbers simple) i lifted 5KG for 100 reps that initially means ive lifted 500kgs but if i did 50 reps on 10kgs ive still initially lifted 500kgs so does it make a difference or is that a load of crap lol????

2 to 3 years to see any good quality gains. Without the use of any anabolics! With anabolics, about 6 months |

Different rep ranges are used to accomplish different goals within a routine. Additionally, 50 reps at 10kg is not the same as 5 reps at 100kg. You would be ignoring a lot of important concepts to jump to the conclusion that because you are doing a total of 500kg either way that they'll affect the body in the same way.

well i guess it depends on ur age and how high ur test levels are and ur training and diet.
that will determine ur mass gains

10 sets of 35 reps?! dang man tryin to kill yourself? lol mass muscle gains IS in lower reps 6-8 i prefer with like 4 sets. Its not a myth because iv tried both high and low reps along with many many other ppl iv known and heard from. high reps will get you cut, low reps will build mass/strength. And make sure your taking in more calories than your burning, along with protein in your diet.

try lifting heavier for a day at the gym with lower reps, see how you feel the next day, i bet you'll feel like you got a hell of a workout compared to your first 35 rep session

my diet deffinately has enough protein in it and i will take your advice on the lower reps with higher weights but this is going to sound really dumb but what does it feel like when youve had a really good workout because my arms normally felt like sore the following day n felt tense and firmer around the areas i had been working on is that normaL????
