Dumping Heavy Dumbbells
I'm OK with them on flat bench. I can get them to the floor without to much commotion. With 100+ with shoulders it's getting a bit uncomfortable socially. I do them from a sitting position getting them up standing. At the end of a set when I'm tapped out I'm stuck with these feet mashers.

If your asking does anybody else dump dumbbells, I try my hardest not to, but sometimes it just happens.

Holy shit dude. I have a hell of a time getting 80's up without a spot. I have to kick'em up with my knees while seated and even then it's a challenge. I usually do power presses when going heavy cause I don't need help with those. |

Hog, you're one strong SOB. Everytime I lift DBs' I always drop them with a loud thud, especially when doing shoulders.

There is a skinny wanna be big kid that goes to my gym who rag dolls 35 and 40 pound dumbbells around like their 100's...Little things like that annoy the hell out of me.

I don't randomly dump them, but I let them fall and just control where they go.
Just leave yourself a bit of a buffer zone on either side of the bench and you should be fine (and just be aware of where people are). |

I dump them but do try to avoid throwing them down on the edges. It tends to loosen plates and bend the bar. In one of the gyms I go to there's an old set of york 100's that are nearly bent U shaped from people picking them up who clearly can't control where they go on the way down.

I got good at them because I've decide to give my rotator cuff less pain. I can not lift as much with a barbell. I don't do those. I do dumbbells and corner presses. I've moved to a much more crowded gym. On top of that said gym has benches and seats bolted to the floor closer than I would like. I have to at times get up and walk away to dump. Thanks for the input all. I thought I might be missing something. : ) |
