    Question Im not sure what to do

    so football season has started ... we have several new coaches and practices have been extremely light... i stopped working out because i was afraid it would affect my performance (being sore or muscles being tired) and i figured we might weight train as a team... however this hasnt happened so im wondering should i go ahead and go back to working out so i dont lose strength? or will working out the previous day or being sore and then having to run, do drills, etc hurt me or my performance?

    Since you guys are not lifting as a team I would continue to workout, just cut your volume down some and adjust as need be.

    I'd just tone it down a bit just so you can mantain what you've got so far. You'll probably start working out together as a team within a few weeks or so.

    you should still lift weights, just don't over do it.
