Rack pulls

I have a quick question about hand placement on rack pulls. Is there any reason i should keep both palms facing me or could i alternate each hand. I have Extra Large hands(gloves sizing, not weight lifting gloves. im 5'8" and can palm a basketball with ease) but im mostly palm, with average finger length(i have lunch boxes). Every time i lift off the rack with anything over 300lbs the bar rolls and im forced to lift with only fingers. My finger strength is great but today i tried to alternate hands and i had ZERO movement of the bar. 300lbs on rack pulls felt like much easier since i was not fighting the bar from rolling.

Thanks for your time.
Kris

Thanks. Does the same apply for romanian deadlifts, straight leg deadlifts, etc?

The only thing I would add it to rotate hands. If you do one set with the right hand pronated and the left supinated, reverse them on the next go around so you keep the workload fairly even.

Eh, kinda depends on what you want IMO. I don't really see much of a difference in growth or strength and I usually pronate/supinate the same hand every time, especially when I'm lifting heavy. For me it's a comfort thing - if I want to lift a heavy weight, I like to not have to worry about a grip to which I'm not accustomed.

I'll switch it up when I do lighter deads, but for heavy stuff I like to use the most comfortable grip I can.

Thank you all very much. I didnt think it would be an issue, and i even thought about switching hands so i dont get one large jail arm. I like to rotate the left hand as its my more dominant hand(but im right handed, go figure).

Dunno, personally I notice that I tend to lean the weight every so slightly towards whatever side is supinated, so I rotate to keep things nice and even.

That and I want both hands to get a bit of grip work, not just one.
