overtraining

i started new routine today doing vertical push/ pull. i started with bench press, two warm up sets, and five working sets 225x6/ 245x5/ 275x3/ 295x2
followed by 4 sets of alternating dumbell press 60x8/ 70x 8/ 80x 6/ 90x5
and two lights sets of flyes

for back, i started with deads 5x5, row machine4x6-8, t bar row 4x10
i workout early morning, took morning nap, by afternoon, im feeling drained and tired. im thinking this may be symptom of overtraining, but i did only have 5 hours of sleep last night and got up early to workout. did i over due it, or do i just need rest? i was reading other posts where it says you cant overtrain in on one session. also, todays workout is new to me, im doing more sets , less reps, fewer exercises. full of energy during workout, lifted strong and heavy, and didnt feel drained when leaving.

How much sleep do you normally get? And I seriously doubt that you can overtrain in a single workout.

Also, the bench press is not a vertical movement. It's horizontal. Overhead press is an example of vertical.

im sorry, i meant horizontal push/pull. i sleep average 6-8 hours, and have a 1-2 hour nap sometimes in the afternoon. i think i stresses out my body big with the deads. got up this morning, went to gym, stayed focus and stong. ill see how i feel later, maybe i need more rest.

Most people don't have the balls to overtrain. They couldn't overtrain if they were getting paid. I say, keep at it and suck it up. When your bicep tears, then you'll know to cut back a bit. Until then, stop crying.

OK, so you were a little short on sleep. Not a big deal unless it happens repeatedly. And DLs can be quite taxing. I think you'll be fine.

i think need more rest so you will not feel tired.. as morning workout is best but not getting enought sleep is the main reason for many prolems we face in whole day...
