Backache when running! User ideas
Dear Forum members,
I got some backache when running. Did you encounter those problems as well and if, how did you solve them? I would be delighted to get some ideas. Greets, MUDI |

I'd stop running, personally.
Wondering where to start? Confused? This will get you started.

How far, how long do you run? Are you running intervals or jogging? Do you always have back pain at any distance/pace?

Are you overweight? Any joint issues? Do your shoes fit properly? There may be a variety of issues that are causing your back pain.

If you have back pain every time you run I think as Built said I would not run. Get to the Dr and have him/her check you out too see if there is an underlying issue. You can also go to a running store and have them video analyze your gait. Most running stores (ie. road runner, new balance) will do this for free and it's a good way to see if you have alignment issue/pronation/under-pronation etc.

I used to run amateur back in high school. I was a 4:34 miler, 1:55 half miler, 9:50 two miler. I know a few things about running and one of the most common problems i ran into personally was my legs. The hamstrings were always too tight. What would happen from tight hamstrings is excessive pull from the lower back. After 5-10 mile runs i would feel an aching pain in the lower back and i would have to stretch out the hamstrings and lower back more than i would any other body part. Proper stretching is very important for running, especially after.
I hope this makes sense, and im sure there might be those that disagree but this is how my body reacted. kris
