Hand Injury?
Occasionally, in the middle of a heavy bench press, the palm of my hand flares up in pain. I used to brush it off but its starting to happen more often recently and it totally disrupts the set I am on. How should you hold the bar in order to prevent this from happening? BTW I am just talking about a flat barbell bench

Possibly open your grip by not wrapping your thumb. This is a common tendon problem with heavy lifters.
