skullcrushers

does it make a difference when lowing the bar behind the head rather than than to the top? i find it less stressful on my elbows and a better strain on my triceps. my elbows kill me when i do the traditional way, i feel more elbow pain than muscle exertion. regardless of my situation, which placement is best, not in terms of comfort?

If it hurts don't do it, who cares if its "right" or not if it hurts you? Seriously. If an exercise actually causes pain, do something else.

If you've found that a different placement stimulates the muscle, while removing that pain, what does it matter if its a textbook skullcrusher?

There are no judges to mark you down from deviation from the skullcrusher norm!

elbow pain comes and goes. point of my question is mostly on form, not of pain deviation. which of two puts more stress or load on tris? i do feel more of a stretch on tris when lowering behind head during the movement, but when doing seated overhead tricep extensions, dont feel same stretch but feel the stimulation in triceps after the movement

There are plenty of tricep movements out there, why would you stick to one that causes legitimate pain?

i repeat, as you had just quoted, im not relating this question to pain, forget i brought it up. i dont do any movement that causes me pain until it subsides. this is a general question on the movement, like what is more effective, squatting to parallel or below parallel(example only, not a question)

Who gives a fuck, its a tricep isolation movement. Even if you do the "best" tricep exercise with perfect form without any pain, bench and military will always give you more tricep results.

So i guess the answer is - no, it doesn't make a difference whether you lower the bar behind your head or to your head.
