some questions with a 4 day split training program

im planning to start a 4 day split program but im pretty new to this. i've read cowpimps sticky so i guess im going with chest-back-legs-delts,abs,arms

i was wondering how many exercises for each body parts and is it possible for me to add another body part into that day of work. like chest-something on monday and back-something on tuesday etc... also my legs are pretty skinny so i want to work them out more than my other body parts.

so if anyone can help me with a routine that would be awesome. thanks in advance.

ok so i've tried this for a week and i've found some problems along the way. so basically i go work out with a friend that's trying to lose weight while im trying to gain weight. with his whole routine, it takes him about 2 hours to finish everything that he needs to do and for me it takes about hour.

what i want to know is, what i should do for that extra hour that i have to wait for him? is it ok for me to combine 2 days worth of excercise all into one day. so basically i do upper-lower mon/thur , tue/fri. or would it be better if i just did everything a second time with less weight? or put in different exercises.

I'd recommend getting in some mobility/stretching/foam rolling.

I also recommend that you help your buddy reevaluate his training. For someone cutting, one would want lower volume training.
