Hello! It's good to be back! (Updates on me + asking for opinions)
Hey all! It's been a long time since I was here. Some things have changed!
I have so all-around questions that I would like to ask and I'm looking for outside opinions on what I am doing as of now. I know that these questions might fit in different categories (for. example: nutrition forums etc.) but I find it is more convenient to post here.
Anyway here's myself:
- Name: Philippe
- Age: Currently 19 (turning 20 in November)
- Weight: around 170
- Height: 5'8" / 5'9"
- Body fat%: 10%-12%
- Goals: Bulking for now (we'll see with the cut cycle later)
- Years training/experiences: 5 years of fitness (from 12 to 17) 3 years of gym (6 months of intensive workouts in goals of bulking up)
- Occupations: well, I've been suspended from college for a year (I skipped most of my last session to be with my ex-girlfriend, so they suspended me, anyway this isn't the point) so i work part time at my gym (in the supplements store) and part time (the weekend) at a club as buss-boy. And that's about it, the rest is free time for me until I can get back to college in a year. BTW, I`m not with this girl anymore, I am single.
- I also never took AAS and not planning to take them.
Nutrition: I've stopped some months ago to follow my diet on Fitday, but I am planning on starting doing it again next week. I know I eat around 3.500 - 4.000 cals a day (high protein, mid carb, low fat). I am awake around 12-14 hours a day (yes I sleep a lot)
Here's the supps I've been taking:
- Isolated whey: 2 months
- Hydrolized whey: 8 months
- ZMA (2caps before bed): 2 months
- NX2 (4 caps a day = 3000mg A-AKG)
- Tribulus (2 caps a day, sometimes more = 1000mg or +) : 2 months
- L-Glutamine (3 times 5000mg: morning shake / PW shake / random shake in my day when I feel the need) : been a year now
- BCAAs (2 times 6000mg powder: 1 in morning shake and one in PW shake): been 4 days!
- Creatine Green MAGnitude (1 x 5000mg of DiCreatine Malate and Magnesium Creatine Chelate with 2000mg Betaine Anhydrous, 2000mg L-Taurine & 2000mg L-Tyrosine) half the shake pre-workout and the other half post-workout : been 4 days, I just convinced my mother that it was okay to take some LOL
- Glucosamine Sulfate: 3x 500mg : for sometimes.
Now remember, I work in a supps store so I get them really really cheap.
Training: been doing P/RR/S (i found here hehe :P) for the past 6 months (did 2 cycles).
Now I'm doing a custom/homemade training with this split:
Monday: Pecs/Biceps/Traps/20 mins of HIIT
Tuesday: Quads/Abs/Calves/ No cardio, some tanning
Wenesday: Back/Glutes/Forearms/20 mins of HIIT
Thursday: Delts/Calves/Triceps/ 20mins of HIIT
Friday: Quads/Traps/Abs/ No cardio, some tanning.
So here's a couple of questions that I've been asking myself and that I would an outside opinion on the subject:
1. Am I over-training or is this split ok?
2. Are there others supps that I should get, or some I should get rid of? (please post reasons) and remember that I get them really really cheap since I work in a supps store and that I also have a good budget for supps (around 300$/months)
3. Any book you could recommend on AAS, I want to inform myself there's so much people coming to the shop asking for info on AAS and I feel like I don't know much. Remember I am not planning on taking some, just love being informed on everything and anything.
4. Any personal opinions you might want to add.
5. How have you been doing?!

When you say "glutes" are you meaning hip-dominant, as in hamstrings (and glutes)?
Also, why do you train quads and traps twice a week? I don't think the traps need that much direct work. In fact, they don't really need any direct work. Are you doing deadlifts and cleans? Those hit the traps better than shrugs do. They also hit more muscles. Try farmers walks, too. Forearms, grip, traps...well, whole body actually.
If you're looking for impressive shoulders, check out Built's shoulder module:
Oops, yes I meant hamstrings, perhaps I should say the back and the sides of my legs.
I train quads two times a week (first time is heavy/low reps & and Friday I hit them with higher reps and less weight) because I think they are really lagging. I think my traps are really lagging too that's the reason I train them 2 times a week.
For the deads, yes I do them once a week and try to go heavy for 6 reps mostly (after a good warm-up). As for cleans I don't do them, might try to incorporate them now.
