Ok, here goes, I am new here and have been lurking around for awhile for info on my routine. I am 39 years old and 215 lbs. I have been lifting for about 3 years off and on (mostly on) and have gotten quite a bit bigger but so has my gut. I have decent muscle tone in my upper body and lower body but I need to get rid of my spare tire. My workout is: 3 days per week. Mon-dumbell bench, cable row, cable crossovers, cable pull down, shoulder press, shoulder pulls followed by miscellaneous ab excercises. Weds- deadlift, squats, bicep bar curls, triceps front extension, dumbell incline curls, overhead triceps extensions. FRI-same as monday . Then switch on the next week(lower, upper, lower). I do 3-4 sets of 6-10 reps on all excercises with about 2 reps shy of failure on the last set. I can do my workouts in 40 min or less. I used to do total body 3x per week but I ran out of steam before I was done. Question is I have been eating all the protein I can get my hands on (including protein powder) and have seem to be getting fatter. Should I cut back on my eating and continue to lift heavy or just stay with my current routine? Sorry about my never ending paragraph but I am not really computer savvy.
