    Uneven workout?

Hey guys. happy new year! although it's a little late.

Anyway, I noticed that when I workout my upper body, my right arm (tris, bis, and chest) always feel like it gets more of a workout and feels tighter and more sore than my left side. I am right handed so I would assume I'd be experiencing the opposite. I also notice that I exert more force with my left arm when I am pushing/pulling. I don't get it. I'm just a little worried because I don't want to look deformed and have uneven muscle mass. It just doesn't make sense, when I feel the muscles in both arms, I have more mass in my right because it's my dominant side, but I am using more power with my left yet my right side feels the burn more. What am I doing wrong?

It's the same even when using weights/machines that work the arms independently and not at the same time.

I'm the same way except im left handed and my right arm is stronger. yet my left arm is slightly bigger then my right arm. i believe thisis because my left arm has to do more work on the same rep/weight then my right arm does thus making my left slightly stronger and more vascular. I wouldn't worry about it as everyone has a slightly stronger arm and the size difference is too minimal to account for.

im right handed, and my left side of body is bigger than my right and feels like the stronger. i think i have joint issues with my right shoulder, which is most likely affecting the difference of development of each side (upperbody). and i tore my acl on right knee, which im still trying to let catch up to the left, since surgery.

Could it be that (as you're right-handed) you have more coordination and control in your right side, and thus the left side uses its strength/power uncontrollably?

People aren't as symmetrical as everyone likes to believe. Unless there is a pretty large disparity, I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you are really concerned, just do lots of unilateral work, starting with the weak side, and only match your weak with your strong side.

thanks everyone. I suppose it isn't something I should worry about. I'm still a novice so I'm sure it'll work itself out once I become more familiar with training. I am extremely sore today, and I'd say the soreness is about equal on both sides. I think I overdid it, so I'm resting today/tomorrow and replenishing fluids right now! I feel like Randy from A Christmas Story... "I can't put my arms down!" i can't even lift them either! hahaha
