Finally being able to dead 5 plates each side of the bar for reps. It felt long overdue.

Squatting 3 plates on each side for the first and having others look in awe....which I found strange at first but then again it was a 24 hour fitness gym where no one squats.

When I entered my first show, it was a natural show, I was only 195lbs and had no idea how to pose but it was an eye opener. Getting on stage takes balls, getting on stage and knowing you will lose takes big balls.

When my frail looking daughter broke every female record lift at her high school, sniff sniff.

Every time she comes home we hit the gym together. It's nice.

When people stopped asking me if I played basketball and started asking me if I played football. (I'm 6' 7")

Also when I benched 315. Felt great.

Having been terrible at deadlifts vs my other lifts back in summe 2009..deadlifting 185 for 3 reps with terrible form , at which point I decided to work my ass off and make deads priority over everything else....words couldn't express how thrilled I was when about 3 weeks ago I deadlifted 205 for 10 intense, but comfortable, PROPER AND CONTROLLED reps...no bounce on the bottom..consistent tempo...and not just jerking the weight up...the progress in such a short time was outstanding!

When I stopped being that scrawny kid everyone picked on to being that pumped kid in the popular group. It sounds shallow but since I was little I was always tormented about my scrawny weight. Now it's the other way round. Very soothing for the ego.

Btw how heavy are american plates? The heaviest ones? We have 25kg and if you deadlifted with 5 on each side, wow thats, 250kg+bar = 270+ kg. That's roughly 500lbs. Wow. Well done nemesis.

yup, 495. Thank you.... I couldnt even get a max near that years ago. Finally after getting serious, i pulled it once, then found DC training. I just pulled 545 x 5 on the last rotation.

Now if I can get the same strength gains for everything else ....... LOL.
My back has always grown fast, but everythig else just seems to take its freakin time, lol.

Well since you're asking about bodybuilding, and therefore aesthetics, when I heard for the first time from some chick I was hooking up with that I had "strong looking legs."

From a pure lifting standpoint, deadlifting 500 for the first time was a fine day indeed.

Between hard training and picking the right supplements for my body, I am finally able to eat 1200 calories without digestive problems. To hell with all those critics who say a broken metabolism can't be fixed!

Also, you really know you've accomplished something when you take new pictures. Just recently I took one in my kitchen in a nice outfit. I couldn't believe how lean I looked in clothes (usually they make me look bigger than I actually am, lol)! At that point I knew I was on the official road to success.

    Nice!

I really like your pics. It's impressive how far people can take their physiques naturally.

How tall are you, by the way? Just curious because I'm only 5'9 and I, as I would like to compete in 2-3 years for the first time, I've always been unsure how someone at my height would look with a bodybuilder's physique. I mean, Frank Zane was 5'9 and he looked incredible, but I'm seeking a slighty broader build than his.

I once read that Tom Platz was 5'6. Then there's Lou Ferrigno! lol I can never really tell in photos, unless they're side by side.

I'm 5'10" . I think most people say a shorter or mid sized frame makes it easier to pack on muscle, etc., or to look like you're more muscular. Thanks by the way!
