    Working out while sore?

I did a pretty intense upper body workout on Monday, it's now Thursday and my upper body is still sore. I can move and have a normal range of motion, but my chest, tris, and back are still sore and feel tight. Just wondering if it's still ok to workout my upper body again or should I rest a day longer? I'm a beginner, so I don't know if I'm overdoing it or not.

My legs are also sore as well. I did lower body yesterday and my hamstrings, glutes, and hip area are nice and sore but I really want to do some cardio today (jogging). Is that ok or should I just have a complete rest day or two until I'm all healed?

If I shouldn't workout or do cardio, I'll probably just do a good ab workout and go swimming to get my muscles moving a little. Is that ok?

When soreness prevents you from keeping perfect form on your exercises (or in this case good running posture) then its a problem, other than that there are no reasons not to exercise when sore. Its all down to your individual tolerance for pain, and ability to keep form under those conditions.

I find after a few warmup sets the soreness goes away anyways.
