hey guys, i've been a member of the forums for some time now and finally I'm posting here. I've looked for inspiration and information on this forum for some time now. But now it is time I got a little bit more involved.
Unfortunately my luck has kept me away from the gym and kinda leading down an rough road.
During the past 6 months I've undergone 2 rather large reconstructive surgeries on my jaw, (15 hours of surgery time) leaving me with 9 metal plates and 40+ screws holding everything in place. Now as some of you might have guess the recuperation has not been easy. my first surgery was in august 09 and my jaw was wired shut for 2 months and the last one was mid January and right now i am on week 3 of my mouth being wired shut. I have been told i am going to be released by week 5, (but i think it'll go to week 6). During both recuperation time I have been on a soft/liquid diet eating mainly soups, broths, milk shakes and such.
Anyways I have known about the surgeries a little before it happened so not to loose a lot of weight i put on a few pounds before hand. at the time of the surgery i weighed in at 225lbs. after the first surgery, i weighed in at 185 lbs. gained about 6-7 lbs over november and december (holiday cooking is just soo goooood) weighted in at 192 pre-surgery and now my scale reads 172lbs. my guess is i am going to be somewhere in the mid to high 160s pending my release.
well due to the conditions of my weight loss i have lost a considerable amount of muscle along with fat.
optimistically at the end of February I am going to start working out again and my goal is to trim down the fat i have left and gain some of my muscle back ready for the summer time.
at this moment unfortunately i am hopelessly lost as to where to start and which direction to go with diet, training, supplements and anything else needed for such a excursion
noted my appetite and my ability to eat relatively hearty portions is non existent.
any help, advice, and recommendations i could possibly receive would be greatly appreciated.
I'm having a hard time grasping why you think you need to lose more fat based on the numbers you wrote. Post pics or at least height.
What happened to your face?
We'll i say i want to lose weight, im saying shed some more fat, because i have lost more muscle then fat during this whole ordel, ill get some pics tomorrow if possible.
i am 5'10" im not as lean (BF% wise)as i have been/want to be once again.
it was a bad accident a bit back, i wound up breaking my nose, my cheek bones and my jaw but my jaw wasn't properly set when the accident happen so the doctors had to cut jig saw puzzle everything then put it back together again...
ill try to scan one of my panoramic xrays and show u guys all the metal goodness
Geared Jesus
i was just thinking if splitting or moving the cutting cycle to before the bulk or making it before and after would be a good idea. as my body is already in a rather steep catabolic state. that can be used to my advantage to promote further weight loss... maybe
I'm not so sure using gear is a good idea at all. Especially if you don't have your training and diet in order. Work on those first and your muscle memory will work in your favor without allot of excess fat gain.
