Doh, well, for me that is all I do for hams/calves.
You could do 1 legged raises for an especially punishing routine.
Good luck
In my gym I only have the following equipments which I think can be used for leg exercises: Smith machine, hack squat machine, leg press machine, leg extension machine, leg curl machine, plus EZ barbell and dumbells. With these limited equipments I usually only do leg curls and stiff-legged deadlifts for hams, and standing calf raises on Smith machines and using dumbells. I think these are very limiting for hams and calves, almost every leg workout I would be doing the same hams and calves exercises, not much variation. Could anybody suggest other alternatives given the above available equipments? Thanks.

Do you use a barbell or DBs for your SLDLs? If you use a BB, try using DBs instead. You can get a better stretch and contraction with them. SLDLs are the king (IMHO) for hams. You can also do calf work on the leg press machine. I prefer standing calf raises myself.

I use an ez barbell, never known that it can be done with dbs. I'll try using db next time to see how it improves this exercise. I believe I would hold the dbs the same way as I hold the barbell, correct?Originally posted by Rob_NC

How to do calf work on a leg press? Do you first press with your leg and then push further with the front of your feet?

Yeah, there seems to be countless variations of exercises for other body parts, so I was expecting to have variations as well for hams and calves exercises. Besides, varying exercises seem to be working fine with me, so I was afraid if I keep doing the same for hams and calves then sooner or later they won't grow anymore.Originally posted by Mudge

Anyway, I don't have the equipment to do 1 leg raise. Or do you mean I should do this with the leg curl machine, so instead of raising both legs I raise 1 leg at a time?

When doing SLDLs with DBs, hold them at your sides when starting, then let them drift together as you bend over. They should be back at your sides when you straighten up.
When doing toe presses on the leg press machine, put only your toes (same as standing calf raises) on the lower edge of the platform. Then press the weight up with only your toes. Pretty simple.
