    quick routine

Hey all, My job just upped my hours a notch so I need a new workout.(dont have a lot of time to spend in the gym). I was thinking of a simple full body workout 2 days a week. My thoughts are bench (4x8)-rows 4x8-incline bench 4x8-pull downs 4x8. THEN deadlifts 4x8. THEN back to 3 sets of curls and 3 sets of triceps pushdowns. All this will take place in 45 minutes with high intensity short rest intervals. What do you think?

Hard to get a good lower body workout without some form of squats and no exercises for the calves. Are you supersetting any of these exercises?

No, I do one complete excercise of 4x8 then rest about 3 minutes-go to the next excercise and so on. I will probably do the leg press and calves also.

Leg press is crap. I would go with squats. I would also consider making two different fullbody routines. For a second routine, pull-ups/chins could replace the pulldowns and curls. dips could replace bench and tricep pushdowns. Walking lunges (weighted if possible) are a great lower body exercise and a decent alternative to squats.

Take out the arm work, have two workouts - Lower Push + Upper Pull, Lower Pull + Upper Push.

    E.g.:

    Workout A
    Squats - 6 Sets
    Pullups - 3 Sets
Single Arm Lat Pulldowns - 3 Sets

    Workout B
    Deadlifts - 6 Sets
    Bench - 3 Sets
    Military Press - 3 Sets

Simple, easy to remember, quick, brutal if you work hard enough.

It was a toss up between rows and the pulldowns, either one is good!

I like 3 exercise routines, they're a lot of fun.
