He should check his ego and reduce the weight. Failing on the last rep of the last set is fine, but failing too much and too often increases chance of overreaching, and injury.
He'll get way more benefit from successfully completing 5 sets of 5 on a challenging weight and gradually increasing it than he will from having you do most of the work on those last two sets.
A spotter should be there to give you moral support, and to bail you out if you fail and would otherwise get injured. What they should NOT be doing is lifting the weight for you. Forced reps are a legitimate technique, but should be used only by experienced lifters, and even then used sparingly.
I don't know where this team lifting thing started, but i had to actually tell a spotter not so long back "don't touch the bar unless i tell you" because on the last set he assisted me on reps that i would have been able to complete myself to such an extent that i was barely doing anything. I know the bar had slowed down, but jesus - i was going for a 5 rep max attempt, it's heavy!
