30sec to 1min 30sec
i know theres different resting periods for different types of training routines. how long do u rest?
30sec to 1min 30sec
i rest 3 to 5 minutes
Depends on what I'm training for...if it's to cut up I like to take about 30-45 seconds with arms and 60-90 seconds for larger bodyparts. If I'm looking to add strength and mass I try to keep it arouns 2 minutes and 3 minutes for squats.
Searching for the right balance...

I never timed it, but probably around 2 minutes.
i dont look at a watch, i wait for the pump to leave from my muscles, when training for mass

Used to be 60-90 seconds, getting lazy, around 2 minutes sometimes now. Supposedly 60-90 is optimum for size (where the study came from I don't know).

Currently I'm lifting heavy, low strict reps with 2-3 minute rests.

In life, Max Q demands the same commitment to success. It requires choosing greatness, personally as well as professionally. It depends on balance, passion and courage and the wisdom gained from adversity. It is an outcome as well as an attitude."
i had read u should rest 3 to 5 minutes, less for smaller muscles and more for bigger muscles. u have to wait for some liquids or something, to leave from ur muscle(that rush to the muscle when u finish ur set) or else u wont have all the strength back. i was reading this in a magazine a along time ago. is there any truth to that?
1 - 2 minutes depends on exercise. Definately 2 for squats and deads.
Yup, it depends on what I'm doing, anywhere from 30 sec to 2-3 min.

Liquids would be blood, and they don't leave in a matter of 2-3 minutes, unless your talking about lactic acid buildup (the pain you feel from high reps).Originally posted by raider6969

What's the advantage/disadvantage of taking shorter or longer rest time?
