    Workout help

Hello guys i am here to get help to build more muscle(mostly pecs). Ok i am 16 y/o i weigh about 135lbs so you can only imagine how much muscle i have... I've been trying to work on my pec muscles but their just not pumping up. Im my school i took weight training class but we hardly go to the weight room because my class doesnt want to go there and we just dont go which makes me really mad because thats why I took that class. So its been like 1 year on and off because i have that class every other day. I have noticed changes in my body (muscle wise). My arms are somewhat decent, my abs i'd say are the best i got. Their pretty well defined but my pecs meh... I mean I have a little bit but i want more!!! I am aiming to gain about 25-35lbs of muscle to weigh around 150-170. Most preferably around 165. School is basically done so I will be working out day by day. That brings me to another problem if I keep working out my pecs too much will they not grow? I dont just want 30lbs on my pecs also including legs/biceps etc... I do different types of push ups but I dont feel like thats helping and its just wasting my time. What kind of protein should I be taking? Also do you know how long it'll take to build some muscle mass hopefully before summer. I know muscles dont grow overnight but still just wondering because I would like to go to the beach with some friends.

At 16 your muscles will grow as fast as they can as long as you eat enough and don't over train. As far as what kind of protein, whole foods - not processed crap like protein bars would be best. Supplementing with Whey shakes would be good if you need more.

How much can you eat? Are you gaining now? If not, eat more.

Do you have any idea how many calories you're eating now? Go to FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal and start a free account, enter a typical "day" and report back with the following:

    Calories
Grams protein, grams carb, grams fat.

Can you do that for us?
Wondering where to start? Confused? "Homework 1" will get you started.

Think you're ready for the "next step"? Take this test.

Given your age and with average genetics you could be looking at a couple of pounds or more a month of lean mass, depending largely if you listen to Built's advice.

I know that doesn't sound like allot but it's enough that you'll see the difference in the mirror from month to month.
