Hey members of IM, I registered on here in hope to get some advice from people who have experience in this field.
I'm 15, 120lbs around 5'7 or 5'8 so I am a pretty scrawny kid. But this summer I really want to rack on some pounds and gain muscle at the same time.
So do you guys have any advice on how I can get cut, gain weight, and strength this summer?
I plan on joining JV football next year and I don't wanna be at the bottom of the pack regarding strength so I just need to do my best to get some results in the next 2 months.

They'll be delighted to see a kid in there getting it right from the start. I was a fat, middle aged woman when I started, and I was intimidated as hell, too but the guys were great when they saw me doing the real stuff - free, below-parallel barbell squats, deadlifts, bench press - and eventually cleans and chins. Very supportive. Don't feel intimidated by them - they'll just ignore you, and eventually be supportive as they see you're serious.
Remember, they were all skinny bitches when THEY started, too.
Listen, read the link in my sig on getting started. You'll be told to do all that stuff anyway so you might as well get a jump on it and see what you need to do.
Sound good?

It can be messy on that site, but you can actually recalculate foods if they don't match your brands. They'll have generalizations for foods like chicken breast. Maybe get a scale and see how much you eat of certain foods. You don't necessarily have to measure everything, but at least once you've seen what, say, 6 ounces of chicken looks like then you can estimate for other things. Unless maybe with professional nutritionists and trainers, no one can measure their macros 100%, but a few % off is fine.
good luck with your training badoinion, but why are you going out for football? are all your friends going out and you want to follow your buddies?
reason why i ask, is 5'7" 120, you're build more like a x-counrty runner or soccer player. . sure you may put on a few pounds these next few months, but football is pretty much for bigger guys.
you may end up being a very good runner, or soccer player, or some other sport where you dont have to be 6' 180 as a jv person..
are your parents big?
whatever you decide to do all the best to you.

I still have time to grow in height, and the weight I can rack up willingly, not like it's one of those things I can't control. And no I'm not following my buddies I just like the sport overall, I did play soccer for a good 4 years though so I did give it a chance.
As for Cross Country, I need to work on my cardio for that xD
gotcha..
all the best in your football training/weightlifting training.
you'll do fine.
