Thread: power racks

For anyone wishing to execute important lifts a power rack would be an essential part of their home gym, therefore I'd buy it if I was going the working out at home route. I never shopped around for power racks so I can't really tell you how much I'd pay for it but there was someone on this forum asking for advice on a home gym a few weeks ago. I suggested they buy a power rack and they said they've been looking and that they're not cheap. I can assume you can sell one for $500 but I could be wrong.

around here (GTA), about $500 used, 1k+ brand new.

there's some cheap MIC floating around for $799 new.

I'm putting a design together. it's pretty much simple. just deciding what type of metal and shape of metal to use. i was thinking selling around $500, which i think is a good deal, but need to estimate shipping prices, or maybe i should let buyer deal with that. i think another real catch is being able to choose color, maybe to match other gym equipment or just personal taste. or maybe make color choice optional at additional cost.

A decent, quality, new power rack will run you around $1,000. So @ $500 (depending on the quality) you should do pretty good. Shipping will be expensive, though.

Probably some 1.5x3 c-channel, 2x3 box tubing and some miscellaneous flat stock and angle iron. That's what I would use. Shop around for the material.

i would let the buyer pay for s&h at that price. just do a pink for the woman and white for everyone else. it gets costly if you have different set ups per customer. imho.
